In September, the Architecture Billings Index (ABI) recorded a score of 45.7, reflecting a continued decline in architectural billings. On a positive note, most firms report having over six months of work in their pipeline, which remains above pre-pandemic levels. While new project inquiries have slowed, the recent drop in interest rates and inflation provides opportunity for a turnaround. Reconstruction projects have either increased or held steady for most firms, providing a reliable stream of work and a reason for optimism as we approach the year's end.
