  • “Just following up” is sales-speak for “I have nothing valuable to say.” If your follow-ups aren’t moving the deal forward, offering value, or asking clarifying questions, they’re just noise.   • We bet you’ve gotten this from a prospect at some point: “I’ll get back to you.” When you encounter this, don't be afraid to push back and ask clarifying questions. Here are a few examples?? 1. What specific information can I provide to assist your decision? 2. What's happening between now and when you get back to me? 3. Is there any concern you’d like me to address now? Asking these questions may not always move the needle for a quicker close, but you’ll get a better idea of your prospect’s willingness to buy from you. The insight tells you a great deal about whether or not it still makes sense to continue with your prospect. And if it does, don't forget to set the next meeting!
