What a WHIRLWIND few days at SXSW. In addition to co-hosting the official LinkedIn Creators Meetup, one of my other favorite events was The Creators Playground, hosted by Kajabi. After winning the “Best Business Creator” award at the Asian Creator Awards last year (sponsored by Kajabi), it was a must-see on my list. ?? And, what’s even better is I got to attend with my good friends Linda Le??, Jean Kang, and Erica Rankin! ?? Here were a few of my favorite takeaways from an interview with Colin and Samir: ?? Trust is the product. ?Trust comes before selling anything. Establish that part of your brand first before trying to monetize. ?? Don’t rush into business. ?It’s ok to be a creator on the side. Oftentimes creators want content to be a business too soon. Let yourself have “pure creative expression” without worrying if it will make money. ?? Authenticity vs. virality ?A lot of creators fall victim to going viral, then when they do, that viral topic defines you.
