The article highlights our LA Safe Routes for Seniors project, where we’re developing a toolkit of infrastructure treatments to improve safety, accessibility, and mobility for older adults who bike, walk, or roll in their neighborhoods. Today we mark the tragic loss of life on our nation's roads as part of World Day of Remembrance #WDoR2024. Despite an unprecedented amount of Federal funding and support for local traffic safety plans -- including a new round of awards on Friday -- there's huge frustration that some big national trends are thwarting meaningful progress.
