Just in time for Women's History Month, our Silver Spring office added a meaningful upgrade—signs honoring Betty Drake and Suzan Pinsof, two trailblazing leaders in the active transportation movement. Now, their stories are front and center in the conference rooms named after them.

"Creating public realms that are welcoming, inviting, and accessible for everyone is what will make cities competitive in the future." We couldn't have said it better than Atlanta Office Director Addie Weber, AICP. Read more about how Addie approaches urban design with empathy, expertise, and a commitment to creating places where everyone belongs.
?????For Addie Weber, AICP, urban design isn’t just about infrastructure—it’s about shaping cities where future generations can thrive. As a mother and a planner, she’s dedicated to creating streets, plazas, and public spaces that prioritize people over cars, ensuring that children can explore safely and communities can flourish. ??From the Peachtree Shared Space Project in Atlanta to corridor redesigns near the University of Michigan, Addie has worked at the intersection of livability, accessibility, and innovation. Her experiences navigating the city with her two young sons have only strengthened her resolve: when we design for the most vulnerable—children, elderly, and people with disabilities—everyone benefits. ?? How do we make public spaces truly welcoming for all? #UrbanDesign #CityPlanning #LivableCities #FutureGenerations #Accessibility #GeorgiaTech #GTCityPlanning

Return-to-office mandates are drawing millions of employees back into traffic congestion, rising commuting costs, and underfunded transit systems. Is it the end of an era—or the start of a TDM golden age? In our latest blog post, we recommend three ways to use this moment to build lasting TDM momentum and ensure sustainable and enjoyable options for ALL workers: 1?? Focus on goals and impact, not politics. 2?? Try out new, flexible commute strategies. 3?? Bring managers and HR teams on board. Read the full post to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gUBunJmH

Today feels like a good day to circle back to this roundabouts video ????? #PiDay
We’re circling back to #RoundaboutsWeek to explore what sets well-designed roundabouts apart. It’s not just about keeping cars moving, but improving safety and prioritizing vulnerable road users with these key features: ?? Clear right of way: Drivers know to yield to people walking and biking. ?? Raised crossings: People walking can cross one lane at a time. ?? Separation: People bicycling are physically separated from car traffic. ?? Entry angle: Cars need to slow down to make the turn. ?? Space to yield: Drivers have room to yield without blocking bike lanes or pedestrian paths. Check out these features in action. ??
