关于我们
Tonnellerie ? was founded in California in 2009 to produce ? barrels and Creative Oak alternatives. ? barrels are handcrafted, hand-toasted and hand-finished to your exact specifications. We build our barrels with the same passion, attention to detail and respect for nature as our winemaking partners use to craft their wines. Our expert team of craftsmen has nearly a century of experience and we’re proud of the pivotal role that our California made French and American oak barrels play in helping winemakers make the wine they intend. Creative Oak alternatives provide winemakers, distillers, and brew masters the freedom to flavor their products exactly how they envision.

?? Oak Notes: The Coopering Process: Step 7 - Toasting Room: Bending & Toasting The next step is to bend the barrel into its characteristic shape. The “rose” is placed over a fire to heat the staves and soften the wood fibers to increase their flexibility. Water is also applied to the outside of the staves to help makes the staves more pliable. Bending is done by a machine that pushes the flared end of the rose together so that all the staves are touching. Over 5 cycles of 2 minutes each, the barrels are gradually bent. After 10 minutes, the barrels are bent enough that a second set of hoops can be applied. The toasting is completed based on the barrel being made. Barrels toasted at higher temperatures for a longer time will have a stronger effect on wine and spirits than barrels toasted at lower temperatures. #OakNotes #Toasting #FlavorProfiles #TonnellerieO
