TBCo Jacksonville recently completed an installation at Florida State University in Tallahassee, where the site serves as an archival storage facility. The previously installed hot gas reheat DOAS unit was not performing as expected, prompting FSU to turn to Mojave Energy Systems, Inc. for a next-generation solution. FSU selected the ArctiDry Liquid Desiccant DOAS to effectively manage humidity and protect its sensitive materials. This unit was carefully sized and designed to meet the latest DOAS standards, utilizing a 0.4% dehumidification design day for Tallahassee. With an industry-leading ISMRE2 of 9.4 lbs/kWh, the ArctiDry ensures precise, energy-efficient operation for years to come. The day after I returned, I got an emergency service call for a DX mini split inverter unit that had stopped working. This unit was serving a server room in a government building, and they were panicking. When I arrived, I went straight to the roof, checked the voltage, and quickly diagnosed the issue—corrosion had created a bridge between two terminals, preventing communication between the condenser and evaporator. After cleaning the terminals and retesting, the system was back up and running. I have never fixed a unit that fast! Before your training, these situations used to intimidate me… not anymore.
