In celebration of #WomensHistoryMonth, we honor Wangari Maathai, Kenya’s environmental champion and the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Through her Green Belt Movement, Wangari empowered women to plant trees, combat deforestation, and preserve their environment. You too can make a difference in the lives of women and girls. Collective Action for Global Gender Equality
关于我们
Together Women Rise is a powerful community of women and allies dedicated to achieving global gender equality. We have hundreds of local chapters across the U.S. where members learn about and advocate for gender equality issues, give grants to organizations that empower women and girls in low-income communities, and build community to forge meaningful connections that increase our strength and collective impact. Together Women Rise invites qualifying programs to submit applications in April for grants awarded in the following year. The programs must meet stringent requirements for selection and agree to oversight, monitoring and evaluation during the life of the grant.

Water scarcity is a women’s empowerment issue—millions of women and girls spend hours daily fetching water, risking violence and losing time for education and work. That’s why we support Save the Rain 's Women's Water Initiative in northern #Tanzania, providing rainwater systems and greenhouses, empowering women with clean water, food, and financial independence. Water scarcity disproportionately affects women and girls, limiting their access to education and economic opportunities. Walking for water keeps women trapped in a cycle of poverty. That’s why we’re partnering with Save the Rain to subvert this dynamic by funding the Women’s Water Initiative, empowering women to build rainwater harvesting systems and greenhouses for families. Join us on Thursday, March 6 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT for a free webinar with Save the Rain’s Executive Director Kelly Coleman and learn how we can make water a tool for empowerment! #GenderEquality #WaterIsLife #TogetherWomenRise https://loom.ly/PUIC-nc
