On our first ever Sponsor a Student day, we wanted to be sure to tell you what a student receives when you make the decision to become a sponsor! For $100 a month, a youth receives: ? A dedicated Life Coach from our team is assigned to every student in our program! Life Coaches meet every week with their youth and cater their lessons to the youth’s needs. ?? Youth learn valuable life skills to help them go from surviving to thriving! Skills like time management, financial literacy, communication skills, and healthy relationships. ?? Our Together We Thrive room is a safe space for youth. The peace in our room is palpable for everyone who enters. ??Throughout the year, we help meet physical needs of youth ranging from snacks, water, school supplies, and clothes to extra special things like end of year parties and birthday celebrations. Together We Thrive exists so that we can alongside these youth to take them from a place of barely surviving to thriving! Our Life Coaches serve as a consistent influence in the lives of hundreds of youth every school year. It is through these intentional, 1:1 relationships that transformation happens! Our Life Coaches educate, empower, and equip youth to see their worth, dream big, and work hard to accomplish their goals. We never give up, quit, or cancel on a youth. We’re proud to say that ALL of our youth move on to the next grade or graduate! Knowing the life changing difference a consistent influence can make, the fact that 1 in 3 youth navigate life alone is all the more heartbreaking for us. There are thousands of youth in our community who are navigating life without a trusted person in their corner. We are thrilled to introduce another one of our new Board of Directors - Jill Sawtelle! Jill is a Society of Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Prior to her recent retirement from corporate HR, she enjoyed heading up HR operations within the aviation and corporate coaching industries. Jill is especially passionate about a holistic approach to HR and looks forward to bringing her relationship building style to our team (& we are so excited for this!!) ?? When Jill is not collaborating on human resource issues, she can be found managing five Dallas-based bands with her husband, Trey. ?? She’s also actively involved with her daughter, Grace, in National Charity League and is enjoying her son, Mac, in his senior year of high school and the numerous activities that it involves. We’d like to introduce one of our newest Board of Directors - Michael Fork! Michael uses his technical and leadership background in his role as Product Leader at Meta. Beyond the workplace, Michael serves as Leadership Council Chairman for his local Safe Families for Children chapter. Michael, along with his wife Bethany, and their four children – Caleb, Aiden, Mason, and Alyssa – share a passion and soft spot for the youngest and most vulnerable youth in their community and work together as a family to make a difference. When Michael isn’t working or serving, you’ll find he and Bethany at their kids’ practices and competitions or traveling somewhere. Their favorite adventure is the annual road trip seeking out “where the people aren’t” – dispersed camping across national forests and national grasslands where, the worse the road, the more likely you are to find the Fork family down it!
