?? Onze onderzoeker Janet Takens nam vorige week deel aan een werkgroepbijeenkomst in Lyon over screening op de Heliobacter pylori bacterie om maagkanker te voorkomen. De bijeenkomst werd georganiseerd door IARC - International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization. ?? Kicking off 2025 with purpose! ?Our TOGAS consortium partner, the European Helicobacter and Microbiota Study Group (#EHMSG), recently gathered in Rome with the local scientific committee to lay the groundwork for the upcoming TOGAS Conference on 11 September 2025. This exciting event will be held at the Europa Congress Centre, within the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome. On January 25, we came together for a day of meaningful discussions. We reflected on the successes of last year’s TOGAS events in Porto and, more importantly, collaborated on designing a powerful program for this year’s conference. As Professor Marcis Leja emphasized, this year we will present TOGAS findings to key stakeholders—including patients, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and researchers—to generate proposals that will shape new gastric cancer screening guidelines across the EU region. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Rome — your support is invaluable! Stay tuned for the exciting program of this year’s conference. Together, we can save lives! ?? ?? Calling all medical professionals! We are reaching out to invite you to participate in a pivotal survey titled?"Perceptions and Attitudes of Medical Professionals Towards Gastric Cancer Screening"?under the?TOGAS?initiative?(TOwards GAStric Cancer Screening Implementation in the European Union). The recent European Council Recommendation on cancer screening has prioritized gastric cancer as a candidate for EU-wide screening programs. To advance this goal, TOGAS aims to gather vital insights to support informed decision-making within the EU. The success of any screening program depends on the engagement and support of the medical community. As valued professionals, your insights—and those of your members—are essential in understanding the readiness, perceptions, and challenges associated with gastric cancer screening. We would be grateful if you could share this survey with your members and encourage them to take a few moments to complete it.?Your feedback will be instrumental in shaping policy dialogues with the European Commission and health authorities across EU Member States. Access the survey here:?https://lnkd.in/dj8vxWQG For more information on the TOGAS project, please visit?TOGAS website?or contact us directly at?[email protected].
