Congratulations to the GSAs whose GSPs were approved by California Department of Water Resources today. In particular, we would like to celebrate this accomplishment by the GSAs in the Modesto and Turlock Subbasins. These GSAs worked quickly and diligently during the 180 day period allowed for GSP revisions. They completed detailed technical analyses and generated new management actions and project details in close coordination with DWR and produced improved GSPs. This process kickstarted great strides in the implementation of SGMA projects and management actions in these subbasins over the past year. Todd Groundwater's Team for both the Turlock and Modesto Subbasin GSPs is led by Principal Hydrogeologist Liz Elliott and includes dedicated professionals not only from Todd, but also from our valued partner Woodard & Curran. This team continues to provide sound technical guidance to the Turlock and Modesto GSAs.?Congratulations to the GSAs, their member agencies, and the stakeholders in the Turlock and Modesto Subbasins. #SGMA #Groundwater #Turlock #Modesto #DWR #CAWater

关于我们
Todd Groundwater is a groundwater consulting firm specializes in the planning, development, management, and protection of groundwater and related surface water resources. Todd Groundwater was founded in 1978 by Dr. David Keith Todd, who was the author of the widely used textbook, Groundwater Hydrology. We are an employee-owned and S-Corporation incorporated in California and a registered Small Business Enterprise (SBE). Our staff is composed of hydrogeologist, hydrologists, civil engineers, groundwater modelers, geologists, and planning experts operating out of a single office located in the City of Alameda, convenient to the Oakland Airport. We maintain a small, specialized staff focused on groundwater services to our clients. Our professional staff members have advanced degrees in civil engineering, geology, hydrogeology, geography, and environmental sciences. Most of our geologists and engineers are professionally registered in California (and other states), and our geologists include certified hydrogeologists and engineering geologists. With an average staff tenure exceeding ten years, we provide our clients with reliable and consistent service from a cohesive team. Since 1978, Todd Groundwater has provided the full spectrum of hydrogeological and groundwater management services to numerous private and public clients. Most of our work is conducted for California public agencies, particularly water agencies, cities, and counties. Our work for public agencies includes basin characterization, water supply planning, and sustainable groundwater management to more local hydrogeologic projects involving groundwater wells.

On Friday, we held our Annual Groundhog Day Party. As always, the highlight was Gus Yates’ groundhog cake! According to NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, even Punxsutawney Phil has had only a 30% track record predicting the weather over the past ten years.?We can’t predict if conditions in any given year will be wet or dry any better than Phil.?However, we do help agencies manage their water resources so that they can weather the dry years and take advantage of the wet years! #Groundwater #ConjunctiveUse #GroundhogDay #CharismaticRodents #Groundhog #Hydrology #WaterManagement

We would like to congratulate Garrett Erickson, PG, on his promotion to Associate Geologist. Garrett has rich knowledge and experience in well construction and maintenance, emphasizing proper design and field methods to maximize and maintain well efficiency. He has worked towards sustainable groundwater management in groundwater basins throughout California and Arizona, including experience on recharge projects. Much of his work over the past few years has focused on the design and construction of large injection wells for Monterey One Water.?Two of these newly constructed wells will come online this year, and he is looking forward to continuing monitoring and optimizing the Monterey One Water injection well field. He also is excited about the construction of several ASR well field projects throughout Northern California in the next year, which will further bolster water supply resources in communities facing new demands and climatic realities. “I was inspired to pursue hydrogeology by my love for geology and our planets natural processes, interest in the mechanics of fluid flow in porous media, and the great benefit of being able to help facilitate responsible use and access to this most vital element of life.” Congratulations, Garrett!

We would like to congratulate Lindsay Hall on her promotion to Senior Engineer. Lindsay has over 23 years of agricultural engineering experience, specializing in water budget investigations for agricultural water suppliers. Since joining Todd in 2022, much of her work has focused on SGMA implementation. She is most passionate about developing robust, repeatable, and efficient processes using large datasets crucial for informed water management decisions. ? Outside of work, she lifts more than just big data and moves more than just projects forward. Here, she is pulling the tallest monster truck in California as part of her training to compete in the strength sports of Strongman. ? Congrats, Lindsay!

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Kyle Young, PhD to the Todd Groundwater team as Associate Geologist! Kyle is a groundwater scientist with experience coding and developing unique analytical approaches to complex hydrogeologic problems. He served as an officer in the US Coast Guard for over 20 years, retiring as a Commander, and he also has academic and consulting experience in geophysics. ? Kyle recently completed his PhD in Coastal Hydrogeology from the University of Rhode Island. He also holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering (US Coast Guard Academy), a MS in Environmental Policy and Management (American Public University), and a MS in Earth Sciences (UC Santa Cruz). ? Kyle was inspired to work in the groundwater resources industry because “as cliché as it may sound, service motivates me. There are no shortages of opportunities in this field to make a positive social and environmental impact through science. It’s an honor to have this opportunity, working for Todd, to play a small role in the management and protection of groundwater resources for future generations.” ? Welcome, Kyle!

Congrats to Arden Wells for passing her Certified Hydrogeologist exam and becoming an California CHG! To earn a CHG certification, applicants must have at least seven years of geological work experiences, including at least three full years dedicated to practicing hydrogeology under the supervision of other CHGs, already hold a California Professional Geology license, and pass a 3 hour exam exclusively about hydrogeology and California groundwater regulations. #Hydrogeology #CHG #California #Groundwater #WaterResources #Licensing
