Speakers of ?ód? - Toastmasters Club is unique - does it sound trivial? They are proving that the word "unique" hides great power! The club is unique because the organization is created by people who believe in the principle - one for all, all for one. This means that when someone's life experiences success, each of us lives on this success, e.g. winning a club competition. And if something unpleasant happens, we try to support the given member in this difficult time for them. The club is unique because we strengthen bonds not only at club meetings, but also outside of them, arranging informal outings. They always organize meetings after meetings, the so-called "afters", where there is space for private conversations. Additionally, from time to time we organize activities such as: a bonfire or billiards so that each of our club members can show us the passion they devote themselves to. The club is unique because we treat each other like a group of closest friends. They organize club Christmas parties, where we not only conduct a loose formula of a standard meeting, but also sit down together at the table and celebrate this special time. And above all, our club is unique because the people who create it are unique. Each meeting is based on unconventional ideas for speeches, hot questions or main topics, which often surprise, entertain and teach. They often leave enriched with new knowledge, experience and motivated to take further action, we already start preparing for the next meeting. By coming to the club, you can receive something more than self-development and learning public speaking. It is an added value in the form of unforgettable social meetings, fantastic people and inspiring conversations that broaden horizons and give new perspectives. On January 14, 2025, Speaking Elephants Toastmasters ?? hosted a special session featuring a modified Fast Friends Procedure—an engaging activity designed to build trust and closeness through meaningful conversations. ?? ?? How it worked: ?? Members paired up based on matching numbers. ?? They took turns answering deep, self-revealing questions (e.g., “What’s your earliest childhood memory?”). ?? 25 minutes of active listening, vulnerability, and genuine connection. ?? Key takeaways: ? 80% of participants felt closer to their partner after the activity. ? 100% want to do it again! ?? ? A new idea: switching partners midway for more variety. ?? Why it matters: ??
