Before football starts: 1) You have to be 21 or older to wager in Tennessee on sports. 2) It's illegal to place a bet on someone else's behalf. 3) Wagering with an unlicensed sportsbook - even if you can access it inside Tennessee's borders - by anyone of any age while located in Tennessee is a criminal offense. You can find a list of licensed sportsbooks on our website, and for those who have difficulty moderating their sports betting, you can also visit our website at tn.gov/swac to voluntarily self-exclude from sports wagering. #sports #sportsbetting #RGinTN #tennessee

? *channeling our inner Lee Corso* Not so fast, my friend! ? Proxy?wagering, or the act of one individual - such as a parent, older sibling, classmate or friend - betting on behalf of someone else, is a?criminal offense in Tennessee and punishable with up to 30 days in jail on the first?offense. It is also illegal to place a sports bet with a bookie, which is a?person who takes bets offline and then pays out winnings. The SWC wants?the wagering public to be aware of Tennessee law as wagering activity is expected to increase with the start of the NFL and college football seasons. #RGinTN #sports #sportsbetting #tennessee
