Congratulations to Bracknells Warehousing & Distribution Pty. Ltd. on the procurement of their new facility in Sydney’s Moorebank Intermodal Precinct! ? Bracknells is a long-established supply chain partner, who specialises in FCL deconsolidation, third-party logistics, and freight management across some of Australia’s largest businesses across FMCG, packaging, media, and pharmaceuticals. This purpose-built facility will optimise turnaround times from port to cargo-owner, automate numerous interactions in the supply chain, and enable the removal of thousands of truck movements from the road network. The facility will target a 5-Star Green Star rating, supported by a 1MW of rooftop solar power and battery storage, 20,000L of potable and rainwater storage with reuse systems, and energy-efficient technologies. TMX partnered with Bracknells and worked with ESR Group to scope and procure the facility. Thank you to Darren Head at Bracknells, to ESR (Danielle Eloss, Troy Bryant, Craig Thomas, Alexandra Angeleski), Qube (Sean Hovey), FDC Construction & Fitout, and to the TMX team Dominic Sorbara and Adam Demetriou! Our CEO Travis Erridge recently spoke to The Urban Developer’s Phil Bartsch about the growth of warehouse automation in Australia, particularly in retail and grocery. “Supermarkets are leading the way in some of this automation space, just because of the volumes and variety of products – it tends to really suit grocery and helps drive efficiencies throughout the whole supply chain. It’s about creating convenience for the customer. And convenience means complexity in the supply chain, which leads to automation.” “Australia has been leading the way in automated solutions over the last decade, and a big part of that is it’s just an expensive place to do business and move product around.” TMX has worked on significant large-scale automation projects since our inception, most recently with Coles Group on their Automated Distribution Centres (ADCs). Christmas Day is six weeks from today. Is your inventory ready? “Supply chain is about expecting the unexpected and avoiding broad generalisations – as different segments of the retail sector will experience different outcomes,” TMX Strategic Advisor Bruce Herbert says of retail’s typical peak season. Read Bruce’s insights alongside Glenn Barnes at Dematic, Raghav Sibal at Manhattan Associates, and Royston Phua at Zebra Technologies in the latest edition of Supply Chain Insights Magazine, talking about this year’s peak retail season. Do you know the purpose of simulation? Our latest research report discovered 60% of supply chain leaders are unsure about simulation, digital twins, and their benefits. We sat down with TMX Senior Director, Nick de Klerk, to discuss why these tools remain unutilised, and to define the differences between them. ?? Simulation answers “what if” questions by testing scenarios with predefined data. ?? Digital twins provide live, real-time insights for continuous optimisation. The takeaway? These tools aren't just buzzwords—they can drive real, tangible improvements, but only if organisations are willing to explore new solutions, seek external expertise, and bridge the knowledge gap.
