Electrical Controls Engineer **This is not a remote position, and applicant must be in the United States to be considered for employment.** Job purpose: Design the control systems for machines mainly in the tire/automotive industry. This will include testing, debugging and installing systems that control machines and display results of the tests. They will consult with software and mechanical departments to identify machine requirements based on customer specifications. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Design control systems that integrate the following components: sensors, drives, motors, PLCs, PCs, and other data acquisition and control components 2. Draw schematic and panel layouts of the designed system. 3. Generation of bills of material via Microsoft Excel, Access. 4. Size and layout conduit schedule. 5. Design system appropriately for category of safety. 6. Check-out and set-up of designed control system. 7. Troubleshoot/Debug issues related to electrical control of new machines and machines in the field. Requirements: 1. Educational and experience requirements include bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) 2. Firm handle on Power Systems design (three-phase distribution and motors) 3. Schematics and panel layouts via AutoCAD or other. 4. Understanding of NEC and specifically NFPA 79 and/or EN 60204-1 for industrial controls design. 5. Knowledge of UL, OSHA, ISO, EN Harmonized, ANSI, and IEC standards. 6. Grounding and how it relates to noise reduction in system design. 7. Knowledge of basic Newtonian physics. 8. Works well independently with minimal supervision, and ability to work well in a small team setting.
