I wanted to reflect on the great opportunity I had from February 24-28. I had the privilege of being part of the first inaugural cohort of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Adobe Immersion Program in San Jose, California. During our time at Adobe’s headquarters, many shared their stories and explained why Adobe was the right fit for them. I especially appreciated how many emphasized the importance of staying authentic and encouraged everyone to remain true to who they are. One moment that really stood out to me was when Ms. Amanda on the sales panel shared her story of transitioning from a teacher to tech. She felt that she didn’t have the transferable skills at first but was determined to create them. Thank you all for bringing this event to life and ensuring that the turnout was so impactful! ???? Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to serve as a mentor for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) SOAR Scholars Program, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Working alongside the amazing mentors at Alabama A&M, we had the privilege of guiding high school juniors as they immersed themselves in college life at both an HBCU and an HBCC. From engaging workshops to networking opportunities, it was a jam-packed week designed to prepare them for their future journey. I’m thrilled to see Alabama A&M University and Drake State Community & Technical College hosting this program again in 2025! If you know a high school junior in the Class of 2026, encourage them to apply! This program is a game-changer.
