We were delighted to share our community-based conservation and regenerative cacao projects with everyone last night at the Regen Network Development PBC event of #COP16! It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet many new friends and colleagues working to support #regenerative communities around the world. Thank you to everyone who attended our chocolate tasting event that was supported by our partners at To'ak Chocolate! If you missed it, here’s a great article that describes our Regenerative Cacao program in Ecuador: https://lnkd.in/eeY4H_rm

Preserving & Restoring The Most Endangered Rainforest On Earth
关于我们
TMA - Third Millennium Alliance is a foundation dedicated to preserving the last remnants of the Pacific Forest of Ecuador and to restore what has been lost together with local communities. We do so through three components: conservation, restoration, and community outreach, and manage the Jama-Coaque Reserve, in the western province of Manabi, Ecuador. The Jama-Coaque Reserve protects over 2,500 acres of moist and cloud forest, is home to hundreds of species of birds, mammals, and herpetofauna, and is part of the Tumbes-Choco-Magdalena Biodiversity Hotspot. It is also considered an Important Bird Area, as designated by BirdLife International, and serves as an important scientific research station in the region. Just landed in Cali, Colombia for COP16. For those who are here, we're hosting a regenerative chocolate tasting & whisky pairing event at Regen After Dark - an after party hosted by Regen Network, NaturaTech, and other leaders in biodiversity credits. The event is on Monday, October 28th at 9pm. Click on the link to RSVP. https://lu.ma/wqq2kboe . You can also reach out to me directly. ? Why chocolate? Because it’s one of the ways were restoring the rainforest in Ecuador. TMA - Third Millennium Alliance and To'ak Chocolate are using regenerative agroforestry to resurrect an ancient cacao variety on the brink of extinction and reverse deforestation with local farmers in coastal Ecuador. At Regen After Dark, we're guiding a vertical chocolate tasting and pairing it with whisky and other spirits.
We are happy to announce that TMA will be attending the 16th Conference of Parties (#COP16) on Biological Diversity that will take place in Cali, Colombia. Three of our team members will be sharing the vital community-based conservation work we do in the Pacific Forest of Ecuador. This is a unique opportunity to engage with world leaders, activists, experts, partners, and funders that are interested in joining hands with us to build innovative solutions and drive impactful change for global biodiversity.?

MiDAS Green Innovations is setting an example by reaching their Net Zero goal by making a direct contribution to our community-based conservation and reforestation efforts that help fight climate change. Thanks for going beyond a typical carbon offset!
MiDAS Green Innovations is happy to announce that, in reaching its own #netzero goals, it has initiated a program to #carbon #offset all it's #airtravel with TMA - Third Millennium Alliance. Unlike other programs, TMA - Third Millennium Alliance combines #reforestation with socially responsible #development through #education, #reforestation, #protection, and #agroforestry. We encourage other #companies (including our partners Algae Products International, C-zero Ltd, Darlow Lloyd and Sons, TrimTabs, Kronos Energy Solutions) wishing to #offset to do the same by going to the link below. https://www.tma.earth/

Join us in saving the Pacific Forest of Ecuador by donating to our annual fundraiser today: https://lnkd.in/gi4FNtKH Over the past 18 years, we have developed a holistic approach to protect threatened forest and combat deforestation in the heart of the Pacific Forest. Our three-tiered model includes: 1. Conservation: Protect all mature forest that remains. 2. Reforestation: Restore degraded land adjacent to protected areas. 3. Community: Empower local residents through education and economic programs. This innovative approach has been tested and proven immensely successful in the Jama-Coaque Reserve. Now it's time to dramatically scale-up our impact across the entire Capuchin Corridor. Join us in making this ambitious goal a reality by donating today.

Today, we call on all of you to join us in an urgent mission to?Save The Pacific Forest of Ecuador. Recognized as one of the most threatened biodiversity hotspots on the planet, the survival of the Pacific Forest is vital for the well-being of biodiversity and humankind alike. Over the past 18 years, we have developed a truly innovative conservation model that halts deforestation in its tracks and restores what has been lost by working hand-in-hand with local communities. Today, we are ready to take our work to the next level by expanding our impact across the 40,000 hectare Capuchin Corridor. But we can't do it without your support. By contributing to our Save The Pacific Forest campaign, you can help us purchase and reforest more land and expand our economic and education programs to the nearly 40 local communities found within the Capuchin Corridor. Your support is critical to making this dream a reality. Together we can save this ecological treasure and demonstrate the power of community that will last generations. The so-called Fortress Conservation model is a top-down approach that excludes local?communities?from the process of protecting biodiversity and natural resources. It’s outdated not only because it’s ethically problematic; it’s also risky and inefficient.?TMA's?Community?Forests?Program (in Spanish, Bosques Comunitarios) avoids the problems of Fortress Conservation by integrating local?communities?in the conservation process and providing them with a financial incentive to actively protect the?forest?in their own watersheds. In other words, they have skin in the game. This reduces the risk of local actors undermining conservation goals and also reduces the resource strain on NGOs or governments. It’s a decentralized and participatory approach to?forest?conservation. We believe it’s the wave of the future and break down exactly how we do it in this new blog article: https://lnkd.in/eyZa5MDG

Since our founding, we have successfully reforested 427 acres of pasture in the threatened Pacific Forest of Ecuador. During the process we have learned many valuable lessons about how to most effectively restore tropical rainforest. Today, we are happy to share those lessons with all of you. If you find the information helpful and/ or are inspired by our work, we would greatly appreciate a financial contribution to our work. https://lnkd.in/ewEisfXz

?? THE CHOCó ALLIANCE IS LIVE ?? The Chocó Alliance is devoted to the conservation and restoration of the extraordinary tropical forests of northwest Ecuador, in the Tropical Andes and Tumbes-Chocó-Magdalena biodiversity hotspots. The Alliance provides services to its member organizations to allow them to work more efficiently, focus on their core conservation work, and expand their impact and visibility. The Alliance is founded on the recognition that its member organizations have the closest relationships with the communities and landscapes they protect. The work of the Alliance members is essential to ensure the sustainability and scalability of conservation efforts over the long term, because engagement at the community level is critical to prevent degradation and destruction from mining, logging, and other extractive industries and to identify viable economic alternatives.
