It's great to see the vision of this project take shape! CAPI's mission is truly inspiring and endearing to us. We are grateful to be supporting CAPI and the design team along the way!
Locus Architecture has been working with CAPI USA - Immigrant Opportunity Center to develop a new facility at their building in Brooklyn Center. CAPI is an organization whose mission is to guide refugees and immigrants on their journey toward self-determination and social equality. Locus staff attended CAPI’s Give and Grow event last week and had a wonderful time. CAPI’s work is the inspiration for our design proposal – the building symbolizes CAPI’s role as the stitch that helps establish immigrants in their new homeland in Minnesota. Along with a green roof, community garden, flexible event Plaza, training rooms, offices, and tech support center, we anticipate the positive impact this project will have on CAPI staff and the community.

We’re excited to be collaborating on the vision for the new Pangea World Theater and be part of the community of creative minds to make this happen! We’ve been so inspired to listen to many great ideas as part of a community biophilic workshop today and we’re excited to keep the momentum going! Thank you Tikun Collective Design , LSE Architects, Inc. and many more partners involved on this process.

It has been a joy to work with the team at Bloedel Reserve. The staff’s deep understanding of how people interact with the land and each other made it possible for us to immerse ourselves in the work. This project was beautiful in so many ways, the place, the design, the time spent at the Reserve, and the dedication of the people. When we went to the AIA Lake Superior Design Retreat #LSDR24 we had no idea that the artists and inspiration from the retreat would connect so neatly back to this project. It’s a great reminder to ourselves that fun time learning with our colleagues is valuable in so many ways.
Bloedel Reserve is delighted to announce the recent completion of the organization's Interpretive Master Plan. We feel honored to have worked with the talented Julie Davis, PhD of 106 Group, Katherine Lamers, and Sam Olbekson, AIA, NCARB, AICAE, NOMA on this rewarding and complex project. The organization's goals for this Plan were to create a cohesive and uniform approach to interpretation that integrates storytelling into the visitor experience; to distill and clarify the main messages visitors take away from their experience; to create a safe, accessible, and informed experience for a broad range of visitors; and to design and adopt a uniform visual environmental graphic design language that respects the founders’ intent. The Plan also clearly states goals for the visitor experience, which show up as key threads in the Plan's interpretive themes: All visitors to Bloedel Reserve will feel immersed in restorative landscapes that engage their senses, encourage them to be present, and connect them with nature. Visitors also will find opportunities to understand the relationship between people and the land?here and to deepen their own relationship to this place. We thank our incredible partners, staff, and Board of Trustees for stewarding this project into completion.

The community vision for the Logan Park Industrial Project kicked off earlier this week with a two-day design charrette and workshop sessions. The city is working on reconstructing several streets in the Logan Park industrial area of Northeast Minneapolis, and we’re excited to be an integral part of such an important view for the project. Thank you to community members, stakeholders, city staff, and users who shared their thoughts and ideas with us! And many thanks to SEH, HDR and Landscape Research for the great insights and wonderful collaboration! Please visit the city’s project website for more information: https://lnkd.in/gb9rsPEY

We love it when our efforts are connected way beyond the individual projects. Working with the Mississippi River through many beautiful variations is an incredible and ongoing experience.?Thank you Regine Kennedy at Blue Willow Planning, Sam Olbekson, AIA, NCARB, AICAE, NOMA at Full Circle Indigenous Planning + Design, LLC, Chris Evans at Drumminhands Design and many more. Spending time with this team is amazing anywhere and to be immersed in the northern woods for a week was a beautiful experience.
