The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread co-sponsored a convening for the Agency Leadership Team (ALT) of the Wisconsin State Public Defenders office. With the recent appointment of State Public Defender Jennifer Bias, ALT gathered on our campus to develop a new mission and vision and set strategic priorities that would increase the team’s cohesion, effectiveness and success. When faith leaders are healthy, resilient, and equipped with fresh strategies and practices, they are better prepared to support and guide the communities that depend on them. That’s why for three days, clergy gathered with Marquette University leaders to equip, inspire, and empower one another to address mental health challenges in their congregations. Participants deepened their understanding of the mental health landscape, evaluated current church practices, and explored new strategies for fostering communities of care and advocacy. The symposium encouraged collaboration, laying the groundwork for long-term impact. As the seasons change, it's a perfect time to refocus and reconnect with our purpose. That’s exactly what the Ascension Wisconsin Community Services team did when they came to Wingspread for their ‘Building a Stronger, Healthier Community’ planning retreat. Over two days, Ascension Wisconsin leaders and stakeholders worked together to create a two-year strategic plan that aligns with local community health priorities and their Community Health Needs Assessment. The group identified key initiatives, measures of success, and impactful strategies to serve communities in Racine, Greater Milwaukee, and the Fox Valley. Last month, we hosted the YWCA Southeast Wisconsin’s staff, board members, and community stakeholders as they collaborated to shape a brighter future. Over two days, this passionate group worked tirelessly to craft a three to five-year strategic plan to further enrich their programs and services to southeastern Wisconsin residents.
