In Sir Thomas More, Shakespeare wrote a speech in which More makes a passionate defence for refugees, pleading for empathy from his fellow countrymen and culminating in a poignant description of the plight of refugees - “The Strangers’ Case” - which persists today. We are excited to share that Tiyya partnered with PIMCO in July for their Global Month of Volunteering. Our heartfelt thanks to Miles Toma and all the dedicated PIMCO volunteers for hosting an invaluable financial education workshop for our Tea & Tots families. Over 20 participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of investing, taxes, and debt management. A special highlight was hearing from Hamidreza Kazerooni, MSF a PIMCO employee who immigrated from Iran in 2017. Hamidreza shared his inspiring journey and insights on achieving financial success in the United States. Happy to share a few photos of Voice of Refugees recipients from last weeks food distribution with Hyundai Capital America. Together, we can serve and support more struggling refugee families in Orange County.

We partnered with Hyundai Capital America for its summer philanthropy series - Heroes for Hunger! Together with amazing volunteers from the Hyundai Capital America Irvine office, we assembled and packaged 200 meals for the families of Voice of Refugees. A huge thank you to everyone who participated! Hyundai Capital America, your support for refugee and food insecurity causes in Southern California is truly appreciated. A special shoutout to Chef Farah, Fawzai Bakes, and Mama Lina Cooks for the global cuisine of falafel and shawarma with hummus and tabouli!
