    Thinking about bringing up climate change at the holiday table? It might sound daunting, but trust us: it’s doable—and essential. The holidays are a chance to connect, even when conversations turn to tough topics like climate change. At Time for Better, we’ve seen how thoughtful communication can create breakthroughs. An insightful article by the Environmental Defense Fund offers three practical tips for having respectful and productive conversations: Ask questions, don’t argue: During the Nuclear Matters activation at Hope House, we saw how thoughtful questions facilitated open conversations about clean energy. Start by asking, “Have you noticed how much buzz there is about nuclear energy lately?” to engage without creating conflict. Share positive solutions: At Earth Disco, we showcased Seventh Generation’s work on climate solutions, blending it with inspiring performances from Hila the Earth, DJ Eric Terena, Madame Gandhi, and Pattie Gonia. Sharing hopeful, solution-oriented stories like these shifts conversations toward what’s possible. Focus on shared experiences: Our recent #WomenLeadingonClimate campaign highlighted personal stories that showed how shared experiences can unite and motivate action.     When nuclear reactors are shut down, most remain dormant, but the tide is changing. Constellation Energy is now working to restart one of the reactors at Pennsylvania’s Three Mile Island—once the site of the U.S.’s most infamous nuclear accident in 1979. With climate change driving demand for low-carbon energy alternatives, nuclear energy is being reconsidered as part of the solution. Nuclear currently provides about 19% of U.S. energy, with the potential to expand if successful models emerge. Based on Microsoft's commitment to purchase its energy, Constellation’s plan to bring this reactor back online by 2028 will test if reactivating older reactors can be done within budget and on schedule. Microsoft’s agreement highlights how significant corporations can lead the way in supporting clean energy initiatives as they work toward decarbonization.
