It's Carol Brouwer's birthday, and we're celebrating here at Tempora with a new website! As developers, rebuilding our site is generally painful, slow, and at the bottom of the to-do list. No more! This is the fastest we've ever built a site for ourselves. It took less than three weeks and no more than 40 hours of actual work time - most of which was spent looking for stock photography (kidding/not kidding). So what happened at #wcus? - We learned A LOT about all things WordPress like AI, plugins, dev, security, PII, accessibility and more in a great venue - Made new friends - Connected with old friends - Learned about products and services in the WordPress ecosystem - Visited Google's Portland offices to learn about SiteKit (thank you Google) - Had A LOT of great conversations! Taylor Mosser and I are headed to WordCamp US! We're both attending this conference for the first time. Any tips from some seasoned pros out there? Do you schlep your laptop all over the place? Do you take printed business cards? Do you take notes? Have you ever reread your notes? What do you do in the evenings? Are any of the sessions in the pool? ?? As a side note, The Portland Japanese Gardens and International Rose Test Garden are worth seeing. We're planning to visit both gardens Tuesday late afternoon if anyone wants to tag along.
