For the last two years, Tilt Shift Media partnered Civic Entertainment Group-to create a series of stories for the Ford Motor Company honoring the dedicated autoworkers who put their heart and soul behind every Ford vehicle they build. As Ford makes its biggest transformation in its 120 year history, we followed Ford CEO Jim Farley as he met with workers around the world to discuss opportunities for improvement and growth. Together, we produced more than a dozen mini-documentaries elevating the stories of Ford workers in the US, Mexico, Canada, Germany and Thailand in a series called Ford: From the Floor; edited by Hakim Fajardo. We are thrilled to screen our Tilt Shift Media documentary, "Harlem Rising," a film about the momentous legacy of Geoffrey Canada and the Harlem Children's Zone and their four-decades-long work of eliminating intergenerational poverty with their innovative approach in comprehensive place-based work. We finished the film in 2020 but we updated it this fall to include the life-saving work that HCZ conducted during the pandemic, led by their new CEO, Kwame Owusu-Kesse. Shout out to the production team/family including Marlene Fox Laura Vural whose work teaching video to youth in the 80s and 90s ended up being part of rare archival footage of Harlem, Editors Orlando Loredo @Hakim Fajardo Archival Producer Gemma Weiner Associate Producer Justin Rodriguez and, last but not least, of course, my very best production partner in life and in documentary films, the amazing Amber Payne. A very special thanks to the dedicated staff of @harlemchildrenszone Harlem Children's Zone and the William Julius Wilson Institute and the dozens of students, parents, and families that invited us to share their stories including many of whom have since become part of our extended family.
