Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) · Located in New York, NY, United States · Lighting Design by Tillotson Design Associates · Winner of the 2024 IALD Award of Excellence A translucent, veined marble fa?ade sandwiched between glass adorns the PAC. A lightly etched outer surface diffuses the transfer of surrounding exterior light sources. Custom-designed industrial "chandeliers" aim at the assembly from behind, transforming the stark white cube into a warmly glowing lantern after dark. The design team explored various concepts before settling on the most economical but more technically and optically challenging scheme. It was embraced for its ingenuity and efficiency, turning standard LED products into elegant workhorse assemblies that evoke the technical nature of an industrial theater while simultaneously providing the glamour of one's theater expectations. ??? Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, hosted “A Longwood Christmas” this holiday season, featuring?astonishing feats of horticulture, ingenuity, and creativity with thousands of lights. The experience was enhanced by an audio system featuring our?900-LFC compact low-frequency control elements, UP-4slim ultra-compact installation loudspeakers, ULTRA-X20 compact wide coverage loudspeakers, MM4-XP miniature self-powered loudspeakers, and Galileo GALAXY 816 Network Platform for a balanced and immersive audio experience, provided by ONYX AV and designed with Jaffe Holden. ? We are proud to have collaborated with Weiss/Manfredi on Longwood Gardens’ West Conservatory, contributing lighting design that seamlessly integrates with the architectural and natural elements of this iconic space. In the new West Conservatory, color-tunable, discrete lighting prioritizes the landscape, ensuring a natural ambiance while maintaining minimal direct pathway illumination. Across the campus, careful attention was given to creating soft transitions between lighter and darker exterior spaces, employing strategic tree lighting, fa?ade lighting, and thoughtfully shielded pole-mounted sources. The National Veteran's Resource Center at Syracuse University is a beacon of community, innovation, and support for veteran's and military families. Designed by SHoP Architects, this groundbreaking facility brings together spaces for learning, collaboration, and engagement. Including a 750 seat auditorium, classrooms, and dedicated areas for veteran services. The team at Tillotson was honored to develop the lighting for this meaningful project. The lighting enhances the buildings architectural transparency, notably in the glass-wrapped lower floors that invite public interaction, and the natural warmth of the extensive wood elements, as shown with the curving centerpiece that leads visitors through the space. This project is a testament to Syracuse University's commitment to empowering veterans and serving as a vital bridge between military and civilian communities.
