We recently had the pleasure and honor of leading a Biophilic Design Workshop for the Center for Peace and Justice, the future home of Pangea World Theater. As part of the Living Future's Core Green Building Certification, this full-day exploration delved deep into how nature can become an integral and intimate part of the building and its surrounding site. Located in Minneapolis, this project emerges in the heart of the Longfellow Business District, deeply affected by, and after, the murder of George Floyd. The Center aims to serve as a symbol of resilience and healing, creating spaces where performance, art, community, and nature intersect to foster peace, justice, and renewal. Thank you to all the participants - stakeholders & allies - for showing up with such energy and enthusiasm - this project is a long time coming. And a thank you to our design partners LSE Architects, Inc. and TLALLI Collaborative, LLC for helping facilitate as well as Schuler Shook , Emanuelson-Podas and Kvernstoen, R?nnholm & Associates for participating at tables. If you’re Looking to host a biophilic design workshop, want a 30 min presentation about biophilic design in your office or want to collaborate on a building seeking certification in any of the ILFI programs then reach out, we’d be happy to help!
