In recent years, donor-advised funds (DAFs) have been growing in popularity for their flexibility, tax advantages, and charitable impact. By doing so, you're not only creating a powerful tool for philanthropy but also supporting our mission to improve the quality of life in our community. Why choose a DAF at TJF? ? Tax-deductible donations that allow you to support your favorite charities at the right time. ? Expert local knowledge and deep community connections to make your giving even more impactful. ? Simple setup with fewer administrative burdens than private foundations. ? Opportunities to engage the next generation in philanthropy. ?? Whether you're advising clients or managing your own charitable goals, a DAF at TJF offers unique benefits to supercharge both giving and tax advantages. Meet "Ellen," a Perpetual Giver. Are You Like Ellen? ?? Ellen supports a wide range of causes, from her synagogue and local food bank to her alma maters. Some donations come from her cash flow, others from her Donor Advised Fund (#DAF). But like many dedicated philanthropists, Ellen finds it difficult to keep track of all her contributions. At Tidewater Jewish Foundation (TJF), we help generous donors like Ellen through a unique approach: the philanthropic audit. We work closely with individuals to ensure they understand the full scope of their impact and help them prioritize their giving to create a lasting #legacy. “Just like you check in with professionals for your health, why not do the same with your philanthropy?” says TJF President Naomi Limor Sedek. ?? TJF's philanthropic audit is more than numbers—it's about aligning your values with your giving. Naomi shares her own personal story of #philanthropy, driven by her father's legacy, and how endowing her gifts ensures her children can build their own meaningful contributions to the community. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/eCbhiHZq and let us help you secure your philanthropic legacy.

“Optimism is the belief that things are going to get better. Hope is the belief that if we work hard enough together, we can make things better. It needs no courage, just a certain naivety to be an optimist. It needs a great deal of courage to have hope.” —Rabbi Jonathan Sacks Let our actions be guided by compassion and understanding, as we strive to create a better and more secure world for today and tomorrow. May the sounding of the shofar help us find solace in our community and support in each other. We extend heartfelt wishes for a year marked by blessings, growth, and dreams fulfilled. From all of us to all of you, L’Shana Tova! Tidewater Jewish Foundation United Jewish Federation of Tidewater
