I returned from a trip Norway with my colleagues Rajesh and Sindhu last week. During this trip, we had exciting conversations with our customers, prospects and partners. While I have been on similar trips before, this trip was special because this was our first representing Tidal as an independent company that had graduated and spun out of X, the moonshot factory in July, this year. Kira Smiley,?our Director of Marketing and Sales, met up with IntraFish Media while recently visiting Arendal in Norway to discuss the importance of the Norwegian market and Tidal’s plans to expand presence locally?? “We are in the process of opening an office in Bergen and are working to get a Norwegian General Manager in place as well as salespeople and engineers.”? ? The Tidal system automatically measures biomass, fish welfare, sea lice levels, and salmon feeding. It consists of a camera lowered into the pen with an autonomous winch, along with a unit controller at the pen's edge. Over six years, we have collected data from over 400 pens, giving us a concrete picture of everything happening inside the pen. The system received approval from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (Mattilsynet) for automatic sea lice counting at sites across Norway. ??
