Last Friday, we received a touching video about Mimi, a lifelong Yankees fan who turned 100 in August. Her birthday wish? To see the Yankees win a World Series ?? On Monday, we seized the chance to make her wish come true and surprised Mimi with tickets for her and her family to attend Game 4 of the World Series in New York. The game started rough for the Yankees, with Freddie Freeman hitting a home run in the top of the first, putting the Dodgers ahead 2-0. (His sixth straight game with a home run, setting a World Series record for consecutive World Series games with a home run!! ?? ?? ) But in the bottom of the third, Mimi witnessed magic ?? Anthony Volpe, the hometown kid, hit a grand slam, giving the Yankees a 5-2 lead and leading the Yankees to their only win this World Series.
