In recognition of National Apprenticeship Week, we celebrate 13 of our newest graduates from the Construction Craft Laborer Solar Program! These students began their training in July 2023, gaining essential skills in carpentry, concrete, electrical work, heavy equipment operation and ironworking to support solar project operations. Delivered through our Mobile Training Facilities (MTFs) — traveling Conex box work labs that bring interactive learning directly to our projects — this training method minimizes time away from the job while maximizing the students' ability to apply what they’ve learned. The two-year program includes approximately 300 hours of classroom instruction and 4,000 hours of on-the-job training, all taught by NCCER certified craft instructors. “The success of this program would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our students and the support of many TIC projects,” said Hugo Mosqueda. Congratulations to these future leaders in solar energy! #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #NAW2024

Last month, 12 TIC apprentice students completed their level one electrical training through the company’s Accelerated Journeymen Development Program (AJDP). The training was delivered at a project site in Taylor, Texas, through the company’s Mobile Training Facilities (MTF). “This milestone is a big step forward for these students. They’re learning valuable skills they can bring to the field immediately. It could not have been possible without our state-of-the-art MTFs.” Said Craft Development Director Ron Duce. The MTFs were introduced last year to bring hands-on lab training straight to project sites, allowing for real-time application and minimal time away for employees from their job sites. Currently, the company has multiple paths of study that can be done through the MTF program, including concrete, civil, electrical, ironworking, pipefitting and solar work. If you’re interested in an opportunity with TIC and to be a part of one of the company’s AJDP, visit ticcraftjobs.com to create or update your craft job profile to get started. Congratulations to our latest level one electrical graduates. Keep up the good work!

TIC and Kairos Power ceremonially kicked off construction on a Salt Production Facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico – a first of its kind for the U.S. nuclear industry. The facility will produce high-purity molten salt coolant for Kairos Power's advanced reactors, including the Hermes Low-Power Demonstration Reactor. The facility will use a proprietary chemical process to create large quantities of high-purity Flibe enriched in Lithium-7 to meet strict qualifications to be used inside the reactor. This facility plays a crucial role in Kairos Power’s mission to advance clean energy, mitigate supply chain risk, accelerate deployment and deliver advanced reactor technology. TIC is serving as the general contractor and overseeing project construction. Read more about the project here: https://bit.ly/40o6izc

We believe the best parts of construction are the people we work with and the projects we build together. Our company and industry are stronger when individuals from different backgrounds come together to solve complex infrastructure and energy challenges our communities face. Every person brings unique perspectives shaped by their experiences. As we celebrate Construction Inclusion Week, we recognize the power of diversity and inclusion. It’s an ongoing journey that requires commitment from all of us. Together, we’re advancing a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion that benefits our employees, clients, suppliers and communities. Thank you to everyone—inside and outside our organization—who support this important progress! #ConstructionInclusionWeek #StrengthInDiversity #PowerInInclusion

This summer, the Samson Solar 2 & Delilah project teams led efforts to restore the Cunningham Community Center in Cunningham, Texas. Employees power-washed, sanded and painted picnic tables, tidied the grounds and performed soil work. The team also added new playground equipment and revamped an old merry-go-round that had been in the park since the 1930s. A special shoutout to O’Neal Drinnon who uncovered the playset from a tangle of overgrown bushes and weeds. Community members stopped by to see the progress, including a group of friends in their 80s who used to play on the merry-go-round as children. “Giving back to the communities we’re a part of is more than commitment – it’s how we show our gratitude. Cleaning up the Cunningham Community Center helps further create a space where friends and families can come together and where the community can thrive,” said Janice Patterson, volunteer organizer. The project’s electrical teams will paint basketball courts and add new nets in the coming weeks. Thank you to the Samson Solar 2 & Delilah project teams for their efforts in bringing new life to this cherished community space.
