Today, Merced City Fire B Shift took on 110 floors in remembrance of the first responders and victims who lost their lives on September 11th. The department remains grateful for the dedication of our local heroes and is committed to honoring the memory of 9/11 by continuing its mission to save lives.

Today, we honor the memory of those lost and the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001. In partnership with the Cordova Community Council, the morning was spent honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day with a traveling exhibit, “Remembering Our Fallen,” a photographic war memorial that honors our country’s military fallen from the war on terror. The exhibit will be at Rancho Cordova City Hall now through September 15. “We remember their bravery, their selflessness, and their love for country,” said Mayor David M. Sander, Ph.D. #NeverForget the events of that day and join the annual social media campaign, Remember the Sky. To participate, simply post a photo of the sky wherever you are on September 11, regardless of the weather. Share it with the hashtag #RemembertheSky and tag the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at @911Memorial.
