Our mission is to empower people and families impacted by blindness to succeed in school, work, and life.

关于我们

Blindness does not have to be a barrier or an excuse. Without a success mindset and practical skills, people that are blind or low vision join the crisis level statistics in this community, causing a $31.7 Billion burden on the economy. Through mentorships, coaching and a robust online portal, Thriving Blind Academy Founders, Kristin Smedley and Charlie Collins, are changing the negative narrative the blind community has been fed for decades and empowering individuals to create the lives of their dreams.

  • #5toThrive Let’s get real: Thriving isn’t meant to be a solo journey. If you want to grow, overcome challenges, and achieve extraordinary success, you need to surround yourself with people who “get it.” People who understand your challenges, your dreams, and the path you’re walking—because they’re on it, too. The power of community is unmatched. When you surround yourself with like-minded people and those walking a similar path, you gain more than just support—you gain insights, strategies, and the motivation to keep pushing forward. 5 Ways to Thrive by Walking the Journey Together 1. Learn from Those Ahead of You No matter where you are on your journey, someone else has already been there. Why struggle alone when you can learn from those who’ve faced the same challenges and found a way through? #Thrive: Reach out, ask questions, and learn from those who’ve already walked the path you’re on. 2. Share Your Experiences to Help Others Your story, your struggles, and your victories aren’t just yours—they’re a roadmap for someone else. When you share your journey, you give others the courage to keep moving forward. #Thrive: On the next TBA call, don’t hold back. Share your experiences, challenges, and wins. You never know who might need to hear exactly what you have to say. 3. Surround Yourself with Possibility-Thinkers The people around you either lift you up or pull you down. Surround yourself with people who see possibilities, not limitations. In TBA, we don’t do “can’t”—we do “how can we?” #Thrive: Pay attention to the voices you listen to. Choose to engage with people who expand your vision, not shrink it. 4. Give and Receive Support Community isn’t just about getting support—it’s about giving it, too. When you share your insights and encourage others, you reinforce your own growth and success. #Thrive: Commit to lifting others up. Celebrate their wins, encourage them through challenges, and watch how it elevates your own journey. 5. Stay Connected & Consistent Showing up once isn’t enough. Thriving requires consistency, and that means staying engaged and connected. Whether it’s weekly calls, online discussions, or special events, stay plugged in to the community that fuels your growth. #Thrive: Make a commitment today to show up, participate, and contribute. Consistency builds momentum—and momentum leads to thriving. Surround yourself with people who understand your walk, who share your mindset, and who are committed to thriving—just like you. Ready to take the next step? Join Thriving Blind Academy today. https://lnkd.in/exePMYtU You’re not alone. Let’s walk this journey together and thrive. #Thriving Begins with YOU! #ThrivingBlind #Community #THRIVERformula

Date: Thursday, February 20, 2025 Time: 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET Location: Online via Zoom Register here: https://lnkd.in/efdgMGXj What you’ll get: ?? All the details on how to get your students/clients into this program. ?? A breakdown of how this will equip youth to truly THRIVE. ?? Exclusive insight into how this event and long-term coaching will shift their trajectory—forever. Spots for this first-ever event are limited, and the demand will be high. • As we close out another incredible year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the amazing people who make our mission possible. This holiday season, we’re celebrating YOU—our donors, supporters, members, and believers—who give your time, energy, resources, and prayers to help us create a world where blind and visually impaired individuals thrive. Here are 5 extraordinary ways your generosity and support have helped our community thrive in 2024: #BucksCounty Thanks to a $5,000 donation from 100 Women Who Care - Bucks County, every family in #BucksCounty with a child receiving Vision Services in K-12 schools received a THRIVER Toolkit. These tools are helping families unlock their child’s potential and build thriving futures right in their own community. #Montana The MONTANA ASSOCIATION FOR THE BLIND INC brought TBA co-founders Kristin Smedley and Charlie Collins to their annual conference for a weekend immersion in the THRIVER Formula for Success. Attendees left equipped to thrive in school, work, and life! Council Rock School District The #RotaryCLub of Newtown, PA purchased our children’s book, What I Can Be Is Up To Me, for every single first-grade classroom in the Council Rock School District and Newtown’s Catholic school. Hundreds of young minds are now learning a foundational principle of thriving: Believe in Yourself! #SouthCarolina A nonprofit foundation supporting the South Carolina School for the Blind and Deaf provided a copy of What I Can Be Is Up To Me to every single student. They also brought Kristin Smedley in to share her thriving mindset with students and teachers, creating a ripple effect of confidence and belief in their limitless potential. #Florida A blind business owner is teaming up with TBA to launch a massive event and year-long program for 100 blind and visually impaired high school students and young adults in #Florida in early 2025. Stay tuned for the big reveal of this extraordinary partnership—one that’s set to change lives in bold and meaningful ways! As you celebrate the holidays, we invite you to give the gift of thriving to others. Your #donation this season can create more THRIVER Toolkits, reach more classrooms, and expand opportunities for the blind and visually impaired community in 2025. Visit https://lnkd.in/exePMYtU to donate, sponsor, or give a membership today. Together, we can make thriving a reality for even more people. As the text on the video says: Oh what fun it is to #thrive in a world that's #merryandbright Merry Christmas! #Thrive #ThrivingBLind #MerryChristmas
