This week's Feature Friday highlights our amazing Patient Copay Reimbursement Specialist, Joanne Carrascal! "Before joining Thrivewell, I spent over nine years in the healthcare industry, working for a BPO company. In April 2023, I started at Thrivewell as an Intake Specialist before transitioning to the Copay Reimbursement Department, which is part of the Billing Team. Now, as I approach my second year here as a Copay Reimbursement Specialist, I look forward to many more years with this incredible organization. Being part of Thrivewell feels like having a second family—where everyone genuinely cares for one another, and leadership truly listens to and values their team. Thrivewell has also given me the opportunity to work from home while supporting the Billing Team, allowing me to be present for my children—especially my third child, who has autism. Their commitment to employee well-being goes beyond the workplace. Because of the support and fair compensation I receive, I’ve been able to send my child to therapy, pay for our home, and even afford a car. Thrivewell has truly changed my life in ways I can’t fully put into words, and I am beyond grateful to be part of this team. Thrivewell not only transforms the lives of its patients but also uplifts its employees. Here’s to many more years of growth and success—more power to Thrivewell!" Thank you, Joanne! We are so lucky to have you on our team!

This week's Feature Friday highlights one of our newest hires Tori Finnerty! "I’m Tori Finnerty, and I’m thrilled to have recently joined Thrivewell as the Director of Pharmaceutical Relations! I grew up in a small farm town in southeast Ohio and earned my degree in Occupational Therapy.?I spent nearly five years at Ohio State University Medical Center working with heart and lung transplant patients before making a big career shift to home health so I could focus on starting a family. While pregnant with my now two-year-old daughter, I took?on a new challenge—helping credential, open, operate, and market a local Ohio infusion center. That experience sparked my passion for the infusion industry, ultimately leading me here! From day one, I’ve been surrounded by positive energy and a true “family-like” culture that Thrivewell has built. This company is setting the standard in the infusion space—building strong, dedicated teams to ensure?every patient receives the best care with the most compassion. My goal is to bring my experience to the table, learn from my incredible new team, and help grow Thrivewell into something even bigger and better for both patients and employees. Outside of work, you can find me cheering on the Browns and Ohio State football, spending time outdoors with family and friends, traveling, and trying new foods. I cherish quality time with the people I love, whether it’s an adventure?together or just a simple walk around the block. My world revolves around my husband Joe, our daughter Charlotte, and our two Maine Coons, Pat and Piper. Excited for this next chapter with Thrivewell!" We can't wait to see what you accomplish, Tori, and we are excited to support you every step of the way!

Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the digestive tract, but despite growing awareness, many misconceptions still surround it. Let’s set the record straight by debunking some common myths about Crohn’s disease. Myth 1: Crohn’s Disease is just a bad stomachache? Many believe Crohn’s is nothing more than occasional stomach pain, but in reality, it’s a serious autoimmune condition that causes persistent inflammation in the digestive tract. Symptoms can range from severe abdominal pain and diarrhea to fatigue, malnutrition, and complications like fistulas or strictures. Myth 2: Diet alone can cure Crohn’s Disease? While diet plays a role in managing symptoms, no specific food or diet can cure Crohn’s disease. It’s a complex condition influenced by genetics, immune response, and environmental factors. Treatment often requires medications, biologic therapies, and sometimes surgery to control inflammation and prevent complications. Myth 3: Crohn’s Disease only affects the Digestive tract? Though Crohn’s primarily targets the gastrointestinal system, it can have widespread effects. Many patients experience joint pain, skin conditions, eye inflammation, and even osteoporosis due to the chronic inflammation and side effects of treatment. Myth 4: Stress causes Crohn’s Disease? Stress does not cause Crohn’s disease, but it can trigger symptom flare-ups. The exact cause of Crohn’s isn’t fully understood, but it’s linked to immune system dysfunction, genetic predisposition, and environmental factors—not stress alone. Myth 5: People with Crohn’s Disease can’t live normal lives? While Crohn’s can be unpredictable, many patients manage their symptoms effectively with proper treatment and lifestyle adjustments. With the right medical care, diet modifications, and support, individuals with Crohn’s can lead full, active lives. Crohn’s disease is a lifelong condition, but increased awareness and proper management can improve quality of life for those affected. By debunking these myths, we can foster greater understanding and support for those living with Crohn’s. This week's Feature Friday highlights our amazing NP Lauren Block! "My name is?Lauren,?and I am a Family Nurse Practitioner at ThrIVewell Infusion. I joined the ThrIVewell team in February 2024 as a Registered Nurse, and I am honored to have recently transitioned into my current role as a Nurse Practitioner. Prior to my time at ThrIVewell, I worked as a Registered Nurse on a telemetry/med-surg unit and later fulfilled my dream of becoming a travel nurse in Tucson, Arizona. Nursing has always been my passion—providing compassionate care and making a positive impact in the lives of others is what?motivates me every day. A guiding force in my life has been my grandfather, who was not only my hero but also a constant source of inspiration. He often reminded me, “Make a difference?every single day, no matter how big or small.” These words have remained with me throughout my career, reinforcing my belief that nursing is the ideal path to honor his legacy and fulfill my passion for helping others. Though my grandfather passed before I?had the opportunity to become a Nurse Practitioner, I carry his memory with me every day, knowing he would be proud. In turn, I am proud to offer care, kindness, and compassion to my patients, striving to brighten their days and improve their lives. ThrIVewell Infusion’s mission and values deeply resonate with me. Having been diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) at the age of three, I understand?firsthand the challenges of living with a chronic autoimmune condition. ThrIVewell's commitment to improving the lives of individuals with chronic and autoimmune disorders is personal to me, as I too was fortunate to receive exceptional care from an early?age. My diagnosis shaped my life, but it never deterred me from pursuing my dream of becoming a compassionate healthcare provider. During my childhood, I spent many hours in hospitals receiving treatment, and it was there that I began to realize the profound?impact that nurses and providers had on my well-being—an experience that fueled my desire to make a similar difference for others. At ThrIVewell, my mission is simple: to provide high-quality care, offer comfort, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients and their families.?Whether through expert care, a kind word, or a reassuring smile, I strive to create a positive impact in every person’s life. To me, nursing is not just a profession—it’s a calling. The opportunity to improve someone’s day, alleviate their concerns, or bring?them comfort is what drives me to continue this journey. I am incredibly grateful to be part of the ThrIVewell team, which has afforded me tremendous opportunities for growth and professional fulfillment. I am truly?aligned with the company’s story and values, and I look forward to continuing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others." Lauren, your story is truly inspiring and we are so proud of all of your accomplishments. Thanks for all that you do!
