Thresholds Health is celebrating throughout the month of February in honor of #BlackHistoryMonth! We were invited by the Institute for Nonviolence Chicago "Embracing Humanity" event in honor of #MLK, which brought together thought leaders, advocates, and community members, such as Chicago CRED, Ald Emma Mitts and IL State Senator Kimberly Lightford, to spotlight efforts in community violence intervention through public health, policy reform, and direct outreach.

Thresholds Health is partnering with The New Roseland Community Hospital Mobile Mammogram Van to provide breast cancer screenings for our community. On November 13th and December 2nd, the van will be outside of Thresholds Health from 9am - 2pm. It makes up 30% of all new female cancer diagnoses each year. While the statistics are alarming, it is also important to remember that with routine healthcare visits, screenings, and improved treatments, rates of breast cancer fatalities are decreasing. High blood pressure, or hypertension, is a common condition in older adults, and can lead to serious health problems if left unchecked. We recommend you have a blood pressure monitor at home or have frequent checks with your healthcare provider.
