Our brains like to tell us that we should be creating new content for every post or article or whatever marketing platform we're using. Truth of the matter is, we can totally reuse content. Of course the content may change a bit based on the platform we use, but the general idea and topic can be the same. For example: If you have a website or brochure, something with a little bit longer content. You can use that to pull multiple snippets out for social posts. Or you could repurpose the content to create an email for your customers. And when I say repurpose, you can probably copy the words exactly (really, who would remember...would you?). People are so overwhelmed with information these days, they need to see things 7+ times before they act. So save yourself time and energy....repurpose your content. Do you have a head full of ideas or list of projects you want to tackle? Our brains tell us we need to do all the things...all at once. But, pick one. Your favorite one. Or the one that will gain the most revenue. Now, take that idea and brainstorm all the ways you'd like to implement it. For example, I have a friend who owns a sweet store. She is looking to grow her customer base with corporate gifts/events, weddings, baby showers, events in her store, etc. All of these are amazing ideas, but it could become very overwhelming if she tackled them all at once. Now, after she chooses her area of focus, she can brainstorm all the ways to target that audience, from email campaigns and social challenges to attending events and partnering with other businesses. This principle applies to ideas and projects, big and small. Focusing attention on that key idea, will create greater satisfaction for you and the customer will feel catered to. Once you're satisfied with how it's going or the implementation...now move onto another idea. Do you want a better understanding of marketing? There is so much information out there. So many thoughts and pressures of what we should be doing. But...it doesn't have to be complicated. ?? Build your marketing with three simple things: 1. Target customers. 2. Two to three marketing tools you'd like to use. 3. The key value and benefits you provide. 1?? Focus on your target customers. We often want to share our messages with everyone (it's human nature). Targeting your messages will make them resonate with the individuals you want to become customers. We may have a lot of people who like our messaging, but we want individuals who will become our customer. Create messaging as if you're talking directly to your key customer. 2?? Choose two or three marketing tools you'd like to use. Now, you can obviously use as many tools as you'd like, but using two or three helps keep it manageable for you. When looking at these tools, also consider what tools your target customer uses or will see. Are they on Facebook or Tik Tok? Or do they read the local newspaper? You want your tools to align with your target customer. 3?? The key value and benefits you provide. Make sure your messaging shares the value and benefits you provide to your customers. And tell them over and over. It takes an average of seven exposures to your brand for them to take any action. So, it may feel like you've said the same thing many times, but say it again. And...they may not see all the messages you share, so that means sharing even more. Are you ready to take action with your marketing? Celebrate! ?? Celebrate! ?? Celebrate! ?? This week we celebrate our freedom. And it is also a good reminder for us to celebrate our small businesses. Celebrating can be easy to forget, but it is so important. Even the smallest of things. It might be showing up when you really don't want to. It could be a new customer that found you. Or maybe it is that you had coffee with a friend. Celebrating our successes, reminds us how far we've come. Try writing down your celebrations. You can write them in a notebook. Or you can put them on pieces of paper and keep them in a jar. Whatever works for you. Periodically go back and read them. They are a great reminder of how far you've come. I know there are days running my business that I feel like I'm treading water and getting nowhere. But, when I look at my celebrations...I'm always amazed at what I've accomplished. So celebrate! Celebrate you. Celebrate your business. Celebrate everything you've accomplished! Believe in yourself like others believe in you! This has become one of my favorite sayings. It is so much easier to praise others. Raise them up. Tell them they are doing an amazing job. But...when it comes to ourselves, we aren't always so nice (sometimes, we might even be kind of mean). Think about it... You started a small business (no small feat). You are helping others with your product or service (thank you). You are supporting your local community and economy (keeping money local). So, next time you're being a little tough on yourself... Believe in yourself (even if it's just a little) like others believe in you!
