This past Saturday, our incredible Tocqueville Society members participated in Family Service Day! ?? They spent the morning weeding, cleaning, and beautifying the grounds at the new Family Haven in Lehi ??The kids even got to paint inspirational rocks for when the new participants come in to use their services. We love seeing families come together to serve and for all the hard work they put in to make our community a better place ???? It's projects like these that make me truly appreciate the balance I have between being a mom and doing the work I love. Grateful ??! I am thrilled to announce that I have officially graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Landscape Management and a minor in business! I am incredibly grateful for the experiences and relationships I've gained through this unique program. My professors and fellow students have become lifelong friends and invaluable examples to me. A special thank you to my mentors who have gone above and beyond to support me: Greg Jolley, Phil Allen, Ph.D., CLP, John Crespo, Grant Hardy, Chelsea Hartshorn, Nick Valencia, Isaac Broberg, Ashley Beazer and many others! I am excited to continue my education at the University of Virginia this fall, pursuing a Master's in Landscape Architecture. I am very excited to further develop my skills through this acclaimed program. In the meantime, I am thrilled to be working as a Landscape Designer for Threadleaf Landscape Design, as well as doing freelance landscape design on the side. ?? Just wrapped up an inspiring 3-day experience at the Utah Nursery and Landscape Association (UNLA) conference! ?? The educational classes were a treasure trove of knowledge, and I had the privilege of attending a session led by my talented friend and colleague Savana Craven. Her insights on landscape design software and deliverables were both enlightening and practical, showcasing the ever-evolving nature of our industry. The trade show was a bustling hub of connection. It's amazing to witness the advancements shaping our green spaces, and the discussions with these experts were invaluable. A definite highlight was the Women in the Industry Luncheon—a powerful gathering where I had the privilege of learning from women who have made significant contributions to this industry. Their stories and wisdom were truly inspiring, reinforcing the importance of diversity and collaboration in our field.
