For an industry in constant flux, #healthcare is notoriously resistant to change. In some ways, this is good. Quality patient care relies on peer reviewed medical science and meticulous documentation—processes that can take years. In many cases, the resistance to change is born out of a desire to keep patients safe and healthy. But with changing government regulations, new technologies, evolving patient expectations, and demands for improved quality and accessibility of care—healthcare organizations need to recognize that not all aspects of their operations require the same glacial pace of development. In our experience, there are a few common roadblocks that most organizations share. Here's how you can meet them with honesty, empathy, and a clear plan forward. #organizationalchange #changemanagement

“I looked at the ventilator that I had serviced, and I looked at the tubes running down to the baby keeping it alive. And that was the point in my life where I said this is what I’m going to do forever.” At the heart of healthcare innovation lies a desire to better human lives. But reality often gets in the way. For example, the healthcare industry at large is experiencing a shortage of care providers, which makes it more difficult to provide personalized, high quality care in a hospital setting. But new models of care, powered by technology, are now making it possible to bring high-quality healthcare directly into the patient’s home. This week on the #CreativeChange podcast, we sat down with Michael Gemmati Jr. ??♂? Jr., Head of Marketing and Portfolio Strategy at Health Recovery Solutions to hear how they’re managing the shift of bringing healthcare from the hospital to the home—making patients the center of their care without sacrificing quality. ?? 2025 Patient Experience (mini) Trend Report ?? The American #healthcare system has a poor reputation. Patients are frustrated by a system that feels slow, impersonal, and difficult to navigate. High costs, long wait times, opaque insurance policies, and fragmented care leave people with a feeling of powerlessness and dissatisfaction. But dissatisfaction drives change. Innovative organizations are working to reimagine a more accessible, transparent, and responsive patient experience. - AI-powered personalization is making care more tailored and proactive - Virtual-first models are increasing access to care - Retail and tech giants are pushing for affordability and efficiency - Real-time patient feedback systems are allowing providers to address concerns as they arise - New technologies are helping to close longstanding healthcare equity gaps These trends are shaping the future of the #patientexperience. Healthcare organizations that embrace them will be better positioned to meet evolving patient expectations and deliver seamless, accessible, and patient-centered care. As we move into healthcare’s uncertain future, here are five emerging trends that are set to revolutionize the patient experience in 2025 and beyond. #trendreport

Company culture can be one of the hardest things to change. It takes a massive investment of time and resources, strategic expertise, and good-faith buy-in from every level.?But being able to change your company culture is also one of the most important skills you can develop as an organization. Because while your culture dictates your employee experience and retention, it can also dictate your sales strategy. For instance, Caterpillar Inc. had a cultural problem. As they began to develop more technologically advanced construction equipment, their dealer sales team was having difficulty getting on board. They were used to selling iron—and selling computers wasn’t something they wanted (or knew how) to do. Through a combination of education, incentives, and prioritization of dealer voices, Thoughtform created a strategy to help bring Caterpillar’s sales into its technological future. See how we helped Caterpillar transform their global sales culture. #salesstrategy #changemanagement #employeeexperience

An estimated 30% of full-time college students drop out within their first year. Can a well-designed meal plan help to change that? A 2019 University of Iowa study determined that it’s possible to predict whether or not a first-year student will drop out simply by looking at their dining hall visits. Specifically, the amount of time between their meal swipes and the meal swipe of the person after them. In other words, visiting the dining hall with friends is highly correlated with graduation. Parkhurst Dining understood that a high-quality on-campus dining experience is more than just a value-add for students. It’s an opportunity to help students build community and prevent social isolation in a time of major upheaval in their lives. Not only that, but the right dining package can impact recruitment numbers, retention rates, and even alumni relations. That’s why Parkhurst partnered with us to design innovative meal plan approaches that would meet students’ eating and social needs at a cost attractive to colleges, families, and Parkhurst themselves. The result was a series of new meal plan ideas that will improve the customer experience and strengthen Parkhurst’s position as a thought leader. See how we worked together to design a one-of-a-kind dining experience. #customerexperience #servicedesign #userexperience

Your organization's most powerful resource is your collective insight. But these wells of knowledge often live separated in silos: organizational compartments whose inhabitants have different mental models of the business they’re in, and different cultural norms. Silos exist for a reason. Specialized groups enable the focus and expertise needed to tackle complex disciplines. But when it comes to innovation, not working successfully across silos poses some serious risks. Without the ability to communicate effectively from one team to the next, you will likely end up doing redundant work, and pulling the enterprise in multiple—often conflicting—directions. Here are our top tips on how to communicate across silos and open the pathways to innovation. #organizationalchange #organizationaltransformation #innovation
