Established in 1969, Thorncroft is a premier Therapeutic Equestrian Centers in the United States. Thorncroft specializes in therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted services (EAS) for both children and adults with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. Thorncroft is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Tax ID 23-2218431 Thorncroft offers the following programs: Therapeutic Horsemanship Recreational Horseback Riding Unmounted, Horsemanship Based Lessons Para-Equestrian Dressage Summer Camp Intro to Horsemanship for Veterans Intro to Horsemanship for First Responders Thorncroft holds the following accreditations: -PATH Intl.- Premier Accredited Center -EQUUS Foundation-Guardian Seal of Transparency -EQUUS Foundation-Thorncroft conducts Equine Assisted Services in accordance with the EQUUS Foundation Guidelines on Qualifications of Organizations Conducting Equine Assisted Services (EAS) -USEF/USPEA-Certification as Para-Equestrian Dressage Center of Excellence -Centered Riding-Supporting Member -Pennsylvania Council on Therapeutic Horsemanship-Lifetime Member -Riding for the Disabled-Lifetime Member Our Mission Our mission is to develop the physical and emotional well-being of all people regardless of their individual challenges. We are committed to personal growth and education in an equestrian environment of respect, love, and inclusion.   • Para-Dressage Spotlight! Carole Laulis, CTRI and Para-Dressage Silver Medal Coach, attended US Equestrian's October Para Dressage Rider Symposium with U.S. Para Dressage Chef d’Equipe & Technical Advisor Michel Assouline at Wheatland Farm in Virginia, with Para-Dresage rider Riley Garrett and current Thorncroft Para-Dressage riders Vicqui Yu and Priya Russell. Did you know Thorncroft is one of only nine USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage Centers of Excellence (COE) in the US? The USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage COE are designed to grow the sport of para-dressage throughout the United States, playing a critical role in pipeline development to the elite levels of athlete and coach education and support.
