Our latest upgrade, the EPIC? 3.0, produces three times the cleaning power as the previous generation for Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) finned tubes. We recently worked on three HRSGs that had been cleaned by EPIC? 2.0 three years prior, and the new equipment had more than double the differential pressure improvement across the tubes, bringing the overall combustion turbine back pressure to within 1 inch water column (IWC) of original design parameters on all three units. We previously discussed the benefits of Thompson Industrial Services, LLC's EPIC? finned tube cleaning, now let's look at its application in a Texas chemical production facility. The plant had been facing high stack temperatures (700-800°F) in their thermal oxidizing incinerators, leading to warped tubes and reduced production. Cue EPIC?, which successfully dislodged embedded solids from the tube fins. The results? Lowering stack temperatures to 420°F and boosting production by nearly 40%. They also expect to extend turnaround time from every two to three years to every five years or more. Impressive results, to say the least! ?
