Gibson, Ph.D., Professor of Neuroscience at Weill Cornell Medicine & Burke Neurological Institute, alongside Dr. Rajiv Ratan, M.D., Ph.D., Executive Director at Burke Neurological Institute, announced a groundbreaking approach that could change the game in the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease! ???? In collaboration with world-renowned partners like the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS) at University of California San Diego and Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Burke Neurological Institute has officially launched the BenfoTeam Clinical Trial. This innovative study explores the potential of benfotiamine to treat mild cognitive impairment and early Alzheimer’s, aiming to stop the progression of a disease affecting millions. The trial will evaluate the effects of benfotiamine on cognitive function and whether high doses benefit people 50-89 with mild AD and MCI.
