Looking back on National Women in Construction (WIC) Week, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful for this industry! WIC Week is always one of my favorite times of the year—it’s inspiring to see the industry come together to celebrate the amazing women who help build our world. Last week, I had the opportunity to participate in two incredible events in honor of WIC Week: ?? Purdue WICM’s Elementary School Outreach For the second year in a row, Purdue WICM partnered with local elementary schools to read The House She Built by Mollie Elkman. This event was my favorite initiative to start as Events Chair, and it’s been amazing to see Emily Amato take the reins and continue its success! A huge thank you to Thompson Thrift for sponsoring our books this year—I’m proud to work for a company that supports initiatives like this! ??♀? Clayco NOW Women in Construction Event I was also honored to attend a Clayco NOW event, where college students from across the nation representing women in construction and engineering organizations came together to connect and grow. The limited partnership offering raised more than $255 million in total capital commitments, surpassing the original goal of $230 million.
