David J. Sackel, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and external disease (including corneal transplants and management of corneal ulcers), as well as cataract and refractive surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University where he graduated magna cum laude and attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. While in medical school, David earned his MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Following his internship in internal medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital, Dr. Sackel completed his ophthalmology residency at New York University (NYU) and his cornea and refractive surgery fellowship training at Emory University. Joshua A. Kalish, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon serving patients at our Gwinnett location. Specializing in cataract surgery, Dr. Kalish completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida. Dr. Kalish earned his doctorate of medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. Prior to this, he was an honor student at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry along with a master’s in cell and molecular biology. He is an active member of several organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and Phi Beta Kappa.
