Even Coach Saban worked with a psychiatrist to be a better coach and connect with his players… just some food for thought ??
"I've always had this great appreciation, which I don't think a lot of coaches do, for 'psychological disposition' of people and their ability to compete." -???????? ?????????? It’s no surprise that?one of?the greatest coaches of all time recognized the 'whole person' in each of his players, shaping his coaching style to fit the individual. Coach Saban realized the importance of understanding that every player’s unique identity influences how they respond to challenges, including coaching. If you’re an athlete, you know the feeling: Does getting yelled at fire you up or shut you down??Coach Saban mastered this nuance. While most coaches play checkers, he?played?chess—tailoring his approach to get the most out of every player. At Mindflow, we’ve embraced the ‘whole person’ approach—rooted in the ??????-????????????-????????????-?????????????????? ??????????????????—within our ???????? ?????????????? ???????????? ???????????? ???????????????? & ??????????????????, developed by our Chief Clinical Officer and team of psychologists.?The Five Pillars include the following topics: 1. ?????????????????? ???????? ?????????????? 2. ?????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? 3. *???????????? ?????? ?????????? ????????????* 4. ????????????????????????, ?????? ?????????????? 5. ???????????????????? ?????????????????????? Our training equips coaches with?some of the same tools Coach?Saban used to shape champions. Want to learn?how our training?for?your?coaching staff can help each of them be a chess player??Let’s talk about how?Mindflow's?Five Pillars Training can help your coaches bring out the best in their athletes.

Our founder, Anthony Faraino, spent time at the NCAA's?recent Convention, sharing more about Mindflow's mission, work, and successes. The audience of athletic directors, coaches, student-athletes, and administrators learned why Mindflow offers a?proven, turn-key, and cost-effective solution to support student-athletes. Did you miss the session? Reach out to Anthony?to learn more.
I had?an incredible experience speaking at the NCAA Convention?in Nashville?a couple of weeks ago! It was a privilege to share how Mindflow supports athletic departments and to present key data and insights we’ve gathered from supporting thousands of student-athletes over the years. One of?our?most compelling findings?across all of our university partners? About 70% of our student-athlete clients seek support from Mindflow’s psychologists for general mental health concerns, while the remaining 30% focus on sport psychology and mental performance. You might ask—why?are so many?athletes seeking help for general mental health rather than purely performance-related issues? Simply put, when you treat the whole person, not just the athlete, the benefits extend both on and off the field. When an athlete is progressing in their mental health journey, improved performance often follows as a natural byproduct of this holistic approach. If you'd like to?learn how Mindflow can support your?team and?your student athletes, feel free to reach out. I’d love to continue the conversation!

Can you imagine the thoughts running through Josh Allen's mind leading up to this weekend's AFC Championship?as he meets Patrick Mahomes for the fourth time in the playoffs (currently 0-3 against him)? As much as we want to focus on what happens between the lines, this game comes down to more than just X's and O's—it’s about mindset. In sports, when you've faced the same painful outcome repeatedly, especially in the postseason, it’s easy to think,?"Why would this time be any different?"?or,?"Maybe we’re just not meant to win a championship."?That’s human nature. But these?elite?athletes aren’t average—they defy human nature daily. Pushing themselves to the brink mentally and physically requires an extraordinary level of mental fortitude. You know the thought?"Will I ever get over this hump and beat Mahomes in the playoffs?"?has crossed Josh Allen's mind countless times. But as someone who’s likely spent hours sharpening his mental game, Allen knows those thoughts are fleeting and normal. The key is how?he responds to them. Keep an eye on Sunday’s turning points. After a mistake, will Allen and the Buffalo Bills hang their heads and think,?"Here we go again,"?or will you see the resolve in their eyes that signals,?"This year is different"??Past results don’t dictate future wins or losses—it’s the mental resilience in those moments that can define a game. This is an example of the?importance of the?mental side of sports and one of the reasons I cofounded Mindflow: to help athletes be at the top of their mental game. The best athletes don’t neglect their mental conditioning—they prioritize it, knowing it gives them the edge when it matters most. At Mindflow, we help athletes tap into their full potential by breaking through?challenging?mental barriers. Because when?the?mind is strong, there’s no limit to what?you?can achieve.
