What should a line producer look for when staffing department heads? Olivia Kavanaugh, line producer on the critically acclaimed A24 film ANORA tells GreenSlate VP, Head of Content Chris C. Anderson that an important quality she looks for in department heads are those who "...have an appreciation and a respect for the production team." She also says that department heads on ANORA approached problems from the place of "How much time do we have, how much money do we have, how can we get this done," rather than, "We need THIS to get there." And that mentality and approach was a big factor contributing to the production being a success. ?? How has GreenSlate addressed pain points for production accounting and empowered crews? By recognizing those pain points and solving for them. Pain points such as: Chasing paper... Going to set with stacks of checks... A teamster driving somebody to set just to sit around for hours waiting for checks to get signed... Crew members calling and asking, "Where's my check? Is the check ready?"... "How we solved all that is by having one application." ~ John Finn ? Everybody has access to the data with the proper permissions. ? Crew members can now look for their own paychecks and pay stubs. ? They can download their own tax documents. ? They have custom grid views (with the right permissions) and set things up just how they want. "It's creating all this efficiency to where accounting doesn't have to get put in the middle." ~ Finn S. Brett Gantt added, "With GreenSlate you have access to information, you can see where things are in the approval flow. You can see what costs are in your system, what costs aren't in your system." Did you catch the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight on Netflix? Netflix says 60 MILLION households worldwide did (Source: https://lnkd.in/ewG8yBDj), with a peak of 65 million concurrant. For those few who missed it, Paul, 27, defeated the 58-year-old Tyson by unanimous decision in the end. Here at GreenSlate we're always proud to support our client projects whether big budget or small, film or TV, or big events. #boxing #production #filmfinance
How does GreenSlate solve inefficiencies? Founder and CEO John Finn explains how... ? GreenSlate decided to have one application on top of a database before COVID hit. ? Having one application pre-COVID helped GreenSlate be ready "when COVID hit... as we didn't have to pivot and kept going with our platform" because GreenSlate already had one application focused on digital and not paper. ? If you haven't used GreenSlate it can be "life changing" when it comes to work-life balance because of the ability to work smarter, not harder. ?? The Louisiana House of Reps just suplexed the state’s $150 million tax incentive for film and TV production. ?? Although Louisiana was the first state to adopt a tax incentive for film production, in 1992, the LA House of Representatives *voted on Tuesday to eliminate* the state’s $150 million tax incentive for film and TV production, in addition to other tax incentive programs in an effort to reduce the state income tax rate. (Source: https://lnkd.in/dinzCMy7) A move to eliminate the incentive program would be a huge blow to Louisiana's film and television industry, which has been instrumental in attracting major productions like THE IRON CLAW to the state as well as studios such as G-Unit, launched by rapper Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson.
