A huge thank you to Nicola Doran from our finance team for organising a fantastic fundraising effort in our Sheffield office in partnership with the Sheffield Shoebox appeal Their Mother’s Day Appeal is a truly special cause—collecting gifts for mothers who might not otherwise receive anything on Mother’s Day and ensuring that children can still give their mums something on Mother's day ?? It was great to attend the Unipol Student Experience Conference yesterday, alongside Honor Brown, Jemima Myers, Danielle Thompson and Jane Crouch! The conference sparked so many ideas around tackling challenges facing student accommodation, universities, and the students themselves. I'm especially excited about the innovative solutions being proposed to enhance student experience and build stronger communities. It was also lovely to reconnect with some familiar faces and hear their perspectives on the sector's evolution. I left with a notebook full of facts and ideas, and I'm excited to see what comes in the future within this ever-evolving sector!

Love to see our teams going the extra mile as always! ??
Last week my colleague Seren & I took to the streets of Swansea and visited every other PBSA site in the city. Whilst we had fun judging the interior decor and satisfying our itch to see inside our competitors sites, we learnt a few valuable lessons to take back to our own accommodations, Oldway Centre and Ty Nant. The two biggest standout lessons I learnt were: ?Happy, welcoming staff and little waiting times make a huge difference to the first impression ??? Cosy lighting, pleasant odours & sounds and homely touches increase the guest experience. This is both within show flats and throughout the entire building This experience also allowed us to acknowledge what we do well at This is Fresh, including giving clear information and knowing our properties inside out. We know our students very well which allows us to build rapport with them and host a range of successful events every month. This is definitely something that we noticed was missing at other sites! Going forward, we can display complete confidence in what we offer and how we differ from competitors within the city. To me, this was a very valuable experience as we have confirmed our USPs and can build upon them, drawing in more students year on year.
