One of the things that helped me most on my journey was Tony Robbins' 5 Levels of Change! And it's not just a tool that helped with quitting alcohol, it's helpful for mastering ANY transformation you desire. Here's what it's all about **? Level 1: The Blind Spot ** Ever thought, "I can handle it"? Yeah, been there. This is where we're unaware of the impact (or maybe just ignoring it!). But, self-awareness is the first step! ** Level 2: The Lightbulb Moment ** A friend's comment, a health scare, a documentary... suddenly, the light turns on! You see the downsides and the desire for change sparks. This could be where you are right now! Questioning, exploring, and ready to move forward. ** Level 3: The Deep Dive ** You're in research mode! Understanding the science, the psychology, the "why" behind your desire. This is when you start diving deep and owning your transformation. You're asking questions, gathering knowledge, and building your foundation. ** Level 4: The Heartbeat of Change ** This is where it gets REAL. ? You feel an emotional pull towards your new, empowered self. You crave the clarity, the freedom, the energy that awaits. This is what awaits YOU in the future, radiating confidence and living your best life! ** Level 5: The Effortless Shift ?** Imagine a year from now. You don't even think about the "old you." It's just a distant memory. You're healthy, vibrant, and living life on your terms. This is Level 5, and it's waiting for YOU! ? Today could be the start of that effortless shift. Millions of people worry that drinking is affecting their health, yet are unwilling to seek change because of the misery and stigma associated with alcoholism and recovery. They fear drinking less will be boring, involving deprivation, difficulty and significant lifestyle changes. This Naked Mind offers a new solution. Packed with surprising insight into the reasons we drink, it will open your eyes to the startling role of alcohol in our culture. Annie Grace brilliantly weaves psychological, neurological, cultural, social and industry factors with her extraordinarily candid journey resulting in a must read for anyone who drinks. This book, without scare tactics, pain or rules, gives you freedom from alcohol. By addressing causes rather than symptoms it is a permanent solution rather than lifetime struggle. It removes the psychological dependence allowing you to easily drink less (or stop drinking). Annie’s clarity, humor and unique ability to blend original research with riveting storytelling ensures you will thoroughly enjoy the process. In a world defined by ‘never enough’ Annie takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of alcohol and specifically the connection between alcohol and pleasure. She dispels the cultural myth that alcohol is a vital part of life and demonstrates how regaining control over alcohol is not only essential to personal happiness and fulfillment but also to ending the heartache experienced by millions as a result of secondhand drinking. Finally, with perfect clarity, this book opens the door to the life you have been waiting for. “I loved this gentle, down-to-earth explanation of problems with alcohol use, and the clear, structured way to challenge your thinking and behaviors around drinking. It helped me pass from shame and guilt into real and positive action.” Elizabeth R., Australia

Can we talk about it? Talk about how we're refilling our wine glass more often than we want to? Talk about how we switched from bottles to boxes so we weren't running out as often? Talk about how it seems like we keep turning to a drink when we are happy, sad, stressed, tired, or just feeling everything? Can we talk about how it's no longer working? That it isn't making us happy? We wouldn't slap a bandage on a broken bone and expect the problem to just go away on its own. Yet we do just that when it comes to drinking. That is how a glass becomes a bottle, a bottle becomes a box and our problem just grows. Maybe now we start to talk about it... If you're ready to start talking about it - without shame, without judgment, and with a desire to change - join us in the 5-Day Alcohol Reset Challenge at https://lnkd.in/eXx--mSZ

I could fill an entire volume of encyclopedias with the failures I’ve faced in life. My childhood years alone would probably fill half the books—walking, talking, reading, writing, riding a bike, kissing, dating, navigating mean girls. I wasn’t born knowing how to do those things. They didn’t come easily or automatically to me either. Instead, the learning process came with an extraordinary amount of pain—both physical and emotional—before I could claim I had mastered the skill. Yet, somehow I found the wherewithal to push through the pain and keep going despite not having the years of wisdom and experience I can now claim to possess. . It’s funny because a fear of failure is what almost kept me from pursuing the single change that transformed my entire life. Failure can dog us in so many ways that we eventually stop trying new things because we’ve conditioned ourselves to believe that we just aren’t capable of being successful at something. . That’s how I felt when it came to controlling my drinking. My failures were so numerous that I’d lost track of them. There were my rules for moderating that I would set for myself: *No more than two drinks *No drinking before 6 p.m. or after 10 p.m. *Only drinking on the weekends *Never drinking alone . And on and on the “rules” would go as I would desperately search for the right set of rules that would allow me to be successful at controlling my drinking. In between those came my numerous attempts to just stop drinking altogether. I had more “day ones” than a five-year planner! . Failure after failure was leading me to believe that I was indeed a failure myself. I just couldn’t take on this or any other change. Almost a decade later, It is so clear to me that my failures were only the beginning to this beautiful journey. If it weren't for my failures, I wouldn't even be where I am today - talking to all of you. Begin your journey to freedom and embrace the failures with us in the upcoming 5-Day Alcohol Reset Challenge at https://lnkd.in/e_MmPFQn

You get what you give. If you want love in your life, you become loving. If you want people to do things for you, you start to do things for other people. One of the biggest human needs that we have is a need to contribute. It often gets glossed over by our other needs, our needs for significance or our need to feel loved or our need to succeed. These other things that are really valid. The thing is that with this need to contribute, when you're contributing, when you're pouring yourself out for other human beings, and giving completely of yourself - all that other stuff happens. You become love, you become significant. You get filled up in ways that you can't even imagine. So many of us struggle with loneliness. One of the most fulfilling and gratifying ways to combat loneliness is to find a volunteer opportunity. You can always find a way to help others, and it is one of the most fulfilling experiences. It could be a phone or online opportunity, shopping for others or even just volunteering to donate food or foster a pet. The opportunities exist and when we do for others we get back so much more. Reach others and make a difference when you sign up for the 5-Day Alcohol Reset Challenge at https://lnkd.in/eCKBWn5B

Forget the perfectly curated Insta-life. Let's talk about the messy corner of your brain nobody sees: the one overflowing with anxieties, to-dos, and existential crumbs. You know, that mental equivalent of a stray sock basket overflowing with unmatched pairs (where do they even go?). We all have it, right? This "clutter spot" we try to ignore like a responsible adult, shoving anxieties deeper, hoping they'll magically disappear. Spoiler alert: they don't. They fester, mutate, and BAM! You're knee-deep in a mental avalanche of "should've-done-this-weeks-ago" moments. That stress, that clutter, it's actually trying to send a message. It's like a persistent friend saying, "Hey, remember me? That thing you care about? Yeah, it's still here, brewing." Facing that stress, instead of dodging it, can be seriously liberating. It's like decluttering your mental space, letting go of what doesn't serve you, and making room for the things that truly matter. So, next time you feel the urge to shove anxieties deeper, take a breath. Listen to what your "clutter spot" is whispering. It might just be the key to unlocking a calmer, clearer, and more empowered you. Unlock a more empowered you with us in the 5-Day Alcohol Reset Challenge at https://lnkd.in/eAc-agFs

Once I quit trying to avoid anxiety, dealing with it and caring for myself became much easier. When all else fails, I stop and just breathe. I take the time to stop, meditate, and allow the thoughts to float in and out. The clarity that comes from that was never found at the bottom of the wine bottle. Wine never made the anxiety go away. In fact, it didn’t stop anything. It just made the anxiety fester awhile longer - undetected under the surface. Go ahead, take a moment and just breathe. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the responses to a post in one of our Facebook groups the other day. How could anyone be negative about such an inspiring and motivating journey? You see, a member posted photos and their story upon completing 365 days alcohol-free. The difference was PHENOMENAL. They looked like a completely different person. Brighter eyes, shinier hair, glowing skin, and an absolutely electrifying smile. The list went on and on, yet what did a few people focus on? The fact that they mentioned looking better as if that was something they should feel guilty about. Pride isn’t shameful. Loving yourself isn’t shameful. NO ONE has the right to bring us down for the things we have worked so hard to achieve and NO ONE can tell you what your motivation for change should be. Whether you’re looking to change your relationship with alcohol because you want to free yourself of anxiety or you’re looking to lose 5lbs - your motivation is yours. Own it! You don’t need to justify or explain yourself to anyone. Often, when others want to guilt us for a change we’ve made, it is because we’re shining a light back at them and illuminating something they might be uncomfortable with. Rather than turning inward and examining that, we find it easier to lash out at the person holding the flashlight. Love yourself, and let the world know you love yourself. There is absolutely nothing shameful about that! Share your love for yourself in the 5-Day Alcohol Reset Challenge at https://lnkd.in/euQ6RUE4

"It's not your fault." Believe it or not, these words have the power to change everything. So often when it comes to traditional recovery, we believe that we are at fault. We believe that we have some genetic or personality defect that caused us to become addicted to an addictive substance. I'm here to tell you that couldn't be further from the truth. There is nothing wrong with you. If you have found yourself drinking more than you want to, you are not to blame. Alcohol is an addictive substance, and your brain and body are reacting in exactly the way we humans are designed to. Once we realize this and give ourselves a little compassion, everything can change! Learn more about how to give yourself compassion with us in the upcoming 5-Day Alcohol Reset Challenge at https://lnkd.in/edUPCrQH

Long ago, my husband and I were given the opportunity to move to London for a work promotion. We had lived in cities before, and we had lived in the mountains. Everyone told us we couldn’t pass up this opportunity. Living in London would be a dream for so many! But we always came back to one simple truth - we’re mountain people. We feel at home in the mountains. So we chose not to make that move, it wouldn’t have been worth the sacrifice. When making personal life choices like this one, we start to second guess ourselves and wonder if our reasons are good enough. Any big decision or change needs to come from a place of authenticity. We can’t hold up someone else’s measuring stick to decide if our reasons hold true. Each one of us must craft a life that moves around who we are and what we believe in. What will your next move be? Start making moves with us in the upcoming 5-Day Alcohol Reset Challenge at https://lnkd.in/exKpEy82
