Hi everyone. As we approach the one-year anniversary (!) of launching This is CNY, we want to thank one of our top corporate partners, M&T Bank, for their incredible support over this past year. ??? We sat down recently with Stephen Gorczynski, regional president of M&T Bank, to hear why he loves to live and work in Central New York. (We especially love his shoutouts for Eva's and the Syracuse Mets Baseball Club.) "I wish we could show people a crystal ball of Central New York 10 or 15 years from now," Steve said. "The vision is there. We'll be a thriving community for years to come." We have exciting growth plans for 2025. Want to partner with us like M&T Bank? Let's talk. https://lnkd.in/ge4QC8Qv - Katrina Tulloch, editor ?? : Nick Lusnar, Advance Media New York

This was once a social gathering place for?Le Moyne College?students, and the longtime home for the school’s drama department. ?? But the building on the edge of campus known for decades as the Le Moyne College Firehouse has been mostly vacant and unused since about 1998. Now, the college is working to bring the old firehouse at 1150 Salt Springs Road back to a useful role in campus life. The most visible feature will be a full-service location for Syracuse-based?Cafe Kubal. Don Cazentre has the full story: https://lnkd.in/g4_SM5i9

A Syracuse company that created a device that automates the imaging of microorganisms for researchers won $50,000 in a commercialization competition this week at The Oncenter. Triton Bio, a startup in the CNY Biotech Accelerator, Upstate Medical University, was one of 12 companies to compete in the competition, an annual event held by?FuzeHub, a not-for-profit organization that supports small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in New York. Triton makes a “smart” incubator called Mira that automatically captures high-resolution images of microorganisms in petri dishes every few minutes or hours. The images give microbiologists a way to observe how microorganisms change size, shape, quantity and color over time. Rick Moriarty has the story: https://lnkd.in/eHSn8MSV
