We are celebrating a purposeful partnership with the grand opening of Glass Half Full’s new state-of-the-art 3-acre facility in Chalmette, Louisiana. This new facility will process over 300,000 pounds of glass daily, 30 times more than Glass Half Full's original location,?expanding their reach across several surrounding states while supporting Louisiana’s coastal restoration efforts. Built over a landfill, this facility was constructed with innovative strategies to minimize excavation and disturbance to the underlying site. By surface draining the parking lot and structure, pre-drilling and pre-punching the piling, and utilizing higher-capacity pilings to reduce the number of locations requiring disturbance, we were able to efficiently build while maintaining site stability. As the design-assist contractor on this project, we are proud to have delivered the facility ahead of schedule thanks to our preconstruction team's strategic planning. Our building and steel teams collaborated with Nucor Building Systems to bring together the pre-engineered metal building, which houses both office space and the processing facility. The interior design features custom terrazzo flooring, supplied by TERRAZZO MASTERS, that integrates polished recycled material produced by Glass Half Full. This project wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of the The Arlene & Joseph Meraux Charitable Foundation and Benson Capital Partners. As Glass Half Full continues to grow, we’re excited to watch their team and environmental impact multiply.

Mounes Street Drainage Improvements Update The Mounes Street Drainage Improvements Project, designed to enhance stormwater management in the Clearview Parkway and Elmwood Business Park area, is now moving into Phase 2 with roadway removal between S Al Davis and Edwards Ave. Next, our infrastructure team will begin installing the Temporary Retaining Structure (TRS), which includes sheet pile driving, waler installation, and strut installation. Once excavation is complete, a long span of 8’ x 10’ box culvert will be installed to improve drainage in the surrounding area. Stay tuned for more updates!

Monday, RNGD celebrated the grand opening of Woodring Apartments in Lake Charles alongside HRI Properties! This new development brings 110 mixed-income multifamily units to the downtown area, offering much-needed affordable housing. Designed with community in mind, the complex features a fitness center, a community room, ample green space, and easy access to the heart of Lake Charles. Built to the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety - IBHS FORTIFIED Gold standard and Enterprise Community Partners Green Communities certification, Woodring Apartments not only provides safe and sustainable housing but also contributes to workforce and economic development by transforming a once-vacant block into a walkable community.

Today, we’re celebrating two incredible RNGD women who embody our core values every day in honor of Women in Construction Week! At our recent company meeting, we recognized Sarah Marcell and Angela Stewart for embodying the Renegade Mentality and Sweep Floors. Their commitment to teamwork makes a real impact on our projects and our people. Sarah Marcell – Renegade Mentality Award Winner Sarah played a key role in developing the Renegade Process Maps, a tool that helps our Building Operations team execute projects the “Renegade Way.” She took the lead in structuring all the insights from experienced field leaders into a clear, user-friendly guide that will be used for years to come. Her ability to bring people together and drive solutions is what being a Renegade is all about. Angela Stewart – Sweep Floors Award Winner Angela leads by example, making sure every job is done with care and commitment. She organizes regular jobsite lunches to keep teams connected, mentors women in construction through National Association of Women in Construction and gives back through the Palmisano Foundation. She’s all about teamwork and integrity, proving that success in construction is a collective effort. We’re grateful to have Sarah and Angela on our team this week and every week!

Our first highlight goes to Cheri Modica, the first woman at RNGD who has been with us from the very beginning. Cheri started her career in construction as a receptionist and quickly found her way into a variety of roles, including office manager, risk management, estimating, document control, administration, marketing, and HR, giving her a broad understanding of the company. As RNGD’s first female employee, Cheri has been a key part of the company’s growth. In turn, RNGD has been there to support her growth too, offering opportunities for training and development so she could continue to excel. One of her proudest moments was helping to launch RNGD and watching it grow from the ground up. She loves the challenges and learning opportunities the construction industry offers and encourages others to embrace the constant evolution of the field. One of her favorite memories from her time at RNGD was all the office nerf gun wars. As an avid bowler, her favorite project at RNGD is Fulton Alley, a bowling alley that holds a special place as the company’s first project. If she could build anything without a budget limit, it would be the most decked out bowling alley in her backyard!

Happy National Women in Construction Week from our RNGD ladies to all our fellow women in construction!
