As the preeminent nonprofit association, ThinkLA serves its constituents through initiatives that leverage members' combined resources to accomplish objectives greater than each could reasonably expect to accomplish on their own. #LGBTQ+ employee resource groups in advertising often lack influence over business policy and creativity despite receiving moderate support from agency leadership, per a study by Do the WeRQ and the 4A's. It was such a pleasure to meet so many incredible students at Pepperdine University's PRSSA event! We are already connecting them to potential mentors and informational interviews to get them start. We're so grateful to Komal Kapoor, Ph.D. and Brian Hemsworth for their collaboration and to the student leaders for inviting ThinkLA to support their efforts. We were also grateful to meet the other panelists as we all worked together to provide perspective on careers, networking, and more. It's wonderful to see our community grow!
About last night! Props to the Pepperdine University PRSSA student board for organizing such a meaningful event. It was a joy to reconnect with former students and colleagues and to see so many eager students in attendance. Thank you Justin Barnette, Chanel Jackson, Don Lupo and Abby Hoard for touching student lives! The panel discussions and speed rounds offered invaluable insights into different allied career paths, personal journeys, and professional experiences.
