We had an absolute blast last week at LABash Conference meeting, talking with, and getting to know the next generation of landscape architects. We hope anyone who attended one of our sessions had some takeaways about technology, sustainability, confidence, or the field of landscape architecture in general, and anyone who stopped by our booth got to know more about us. See you all next year! #landscapearchitecture #labashconference #labash2025 #guelph #studentconference

Scenes from Madison Dierks, PLA, ASLA, and Morgan Chapman, PLA's session "Prepare for Being Unprepared: Practice Makes Experience—Not Perfection" yesterday at LABash Conference. A session about using improv comedy principles to enhance communication, manage stress, and foster professional growth. By embracing imperfection, making quicker decisions, and listening with greater empathy participants learned key abilities for effective collaboration and adaptability. We will see you for more sessions today and over at booth 8! #landscapearchitecture #labashconference #labash2025 #guelph #studentconference

Last Thursday, Madison Dierks, PLA, ASLA and our Des Moines intern, Corinne, had the incredible opportunity to attend the Iowa Women in Architecture Kick-Off event. The speakers from MA Architecture, Mindy Aust, AIA, LEED AP, Anna Squier, and Jessica Terrill AIA LEED? AP, shared valuable insights on creating professional timelines layered with personal milestones. Attendees even started crafting their own timelines, discussing the importance of documenting projects, applying for The American Institute of Architects (AIA) awards, and enhancing resumes. This reflective practice also highlighted the significance of acknowledging gaps in employment, volunteering, and various types of work. Corinne mentioned how inspiring it was to learn about the idea of documenting achievements early in her career. It's a great way to recognize accomplishments without needing external validation.
