关于我们

In 2016, a coalition of nearly 30 public media organizations launched the Public Media Village and gathered in one space to recruit at the NABJ/NAHJ conference in Washington, D.C. under the unifying banner, Think.Public.Media. Back then, more than 500 black and Latino journalists came through our "Village," talked to public media recruiters, and registered so that their resumes would be available to all of the participating organizations. As a result of that effort, we saw many journalists of color end up in public media. In 2017, we brought the Village to three minority journalism conferences and flew the Think.Public.Media. flag at the Online News Association convention in D.C. All told, more than 700 journalists registered with our organization at five events: NABJ, Excellence in Journalism (NAHJ/NAJA), AAJA, SAJA, and ONA. While these conferences are a vital part of what we do, the work continues throughout the year, so if you can't attend, we invite you to explore the world of public media through the resources on our site. You can check out stories of the people living public media every day, from the interns to the pros. You can also keep up with our latest events and news. If you're looking to start or continue your career in public media, you can submit your resume, where it will be entered into the database we've created and shared with Villagers in public media across the country.
